Job Overview:

The Graphic Artist supports industrial barcode labeling operations by creating accurate, production-ready designs and templates while collaborating closely with customers and internal teams. This role ensures that all label artwork meets customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and quality standards, while contributing to efficient production workflows and continuous improvement efforts.

Objectives:

Success in this role is demonstrated by consistently delivering accurate, production-ready label designs that meet customer specifications, regulatory standards, and internal quality expectations on time. The Graphic Artist proactively collaborates with customers and internal teams to finalize proofs efficiently, minimizes production errors through thorough pre-press inspection and data management, and contributes to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance workflows, quality, and turnaround times. Strong organization, attention to detail, and effective communication ensure multiple projects are managed seamlessly while supporting overall production goals and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Create art proofs and collaborate with customers to secure final design approval.
  • Set up production templates used in the automated generation of barcode labels, including pre-press inspection.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, MIL standards, and other technical documentation.
  • Apply knowledge of manufacturing processes and fabrication methods to improve production efficiency and quality.
  • Create and manage data files in Excel and through database-generated file systems.
  • Perform quality control procedures related to graphic content and support problem-solving efforts for QA and other production-related issues.
  • Use the company ERP system to archive key CRM activity and record production status updates.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education is preferred (associate or bachelor’s degree), or equivalent work experience.
  • Relevant experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Windows-based computer applications, including graphic design software (CorelDRAW preferred) and Microsoft Excel; experience or training in BarTender label design and printing software is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team to meet deadlines and production schedules.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with customers as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working on a computer.
  • Ability to view and review detailed graphics and technical information on screens and printed materials.
  • Occasional movement within a production or office environment to coordinate with team members.
