Job description

We are seeking a Regional Civil Design Engineering Project Manager working remotely in and around the West region(California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona) of the United States. Reporting to the West Region VP of Construction and Design. The Regional Civil Design Engineering Project Manager will be working with the Sales and Construction teams and guide the athletic facility design process. Engineer will help design, manage and complete the West Regional Design project workloads including Autocad production drawings, permitting, and performing stormwater design and calculations utilizing HydroCAD and/or Hydraflow for hydraulics and hydrology tasks. Work will be for all levels of athletic facilities and accompanying infrastructure design and construction.

What You'll Do:

  • Prepare and manage production of civil design/construction plans, including notes, details, plan and profile sheets, and cross-sections. Prepare schedules, assign projects, update project data base
  • Prepare and negotiate design agreements including schedule, scope, and budget
  • Prepare and submit project permitting packages.
  • Lead the team in preparing technical storm water calculations for athletic facility development.
  • Prepare technical reports, memos, and exhibits to support project documentation.
  • Perform technical review of drawings, specifications, calculations, shop drawings, and other engineering documents for conformance with industry standards and company recommendations
  • Perform preliminary engineering evaluations, including quantity take-offs and opinions of probable construction cost.
  • Conduct research and select technical reference data for project specifications.
  • Support the sales team with concept designs and sales meetings with clients.
  • Highly communicative role-must be comfortable interacting with jurisdictions, peers, clients, and supervisors to ensure project success.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety regulations, standard operating procedures, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with installation crews, subcontractors, and sales teams to resolve technical and operational challenges.
  • Perform site construction visits and prepare associated field reports.
  • Review and approve subcontractor invoices and assist project managers in billing, design, and engineering tasks.
  • Oversee project closeout, including Certificates of Completion, As-Builts, and final checklists.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to sales and customers to secure contracts.

Experience & Education Desired:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, or a technical school degree with equivalent experience.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License preferred(CA, OR, WA), with 6-10 years' experience and the with ability for licensure reciprocity in neighboring jurisdictions.
  • Experience in civil site design, including site layout, grading, drainage, water, sewer, earthwork, and sediment control preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D for drafting and design.
  • Strong leadership skill:
    • Lead the regional Design & Sales Process: Organize and assemble scope for new design projects with sales, customers, and local contractors
  • Strong multitasking and crisis management skills, including handling customer service demands, construction RFIs, and installation challenges.
  • Experience with bidding and estimating processes, ensuring proper budget allocation and project scope completion.
  • Ability to track projects and maintain communication with project teams, customers, and sales throughout execution.
  • Knowledge of material compliance and subcontractor coordination, including visiting regional aggregate quarries and civil partners.
  • Ensure all projects are closed out in a timely fashion at or under budget with customers fully engaged with completion and punch-list complete
  • Attend sales meetings with Regional Sales Managers to outline minimum civil details and design recommendations
  • Visit regional aggregate quarries, verify material compliance
  • Visit with regional civil partners and subcontractors
  • Attend and participate in Weekly Regional Conference calls (WIP Calls)

Travel Requirements:

Travels, when necessary, by several modes of transportation

Region: Home Office (preferably) based in the Southeast region of United States

Moderate overnight travel (up to approx 10%) by land and/or air.
