Senior Manager, Store Experience Design
What will you do?
A day in the life of a Store Design Manager at VF looks a little like this.
As a Senior Manager, Store Experience Design on the VF Store Construction team, you will lead the execution and continued development of immersive retail experiences that bring our brand ethos to life in physical space. Your primary focus will be executing upon the Global creative vision, spatial narratives, and design principles that guide world-class consumer experiences across owned and partner retail environments.
Steeped in the full spectrum of visual brand, spatial experience, and store & fixture design, you will translate VF's innovative spirit, outdoor heritage, and exploration mindset into scalable design solutions. This role partners closely with internal stakeholders and external collaborators and reports to the Director of VF Retail Construction.

  • Drive design development of retail concept direction and execution strategies in collaboration with internal and external partners to connect with consumers in a consistent brand voice and tone
  • Refine, iterate upon, and deliver best in class architectural interventions at retail, celebrating the innovative DNA of our brand, its rich outdoor heritage and authentic connection with our world of exploration
  • Collaborate constructively and cross-functionally to align retail concepts with brand, product, merchandising, and marketing priorities
  • Champion a consistent, elevated brand voice in physical spaces, ensuring clarity, cohesion, and emotional resonance across touchpoints

  • Advocate for sustainability-driven thinking within early concept development, aligning with VF Green Building and sustainability principles
  • Prepare design presentations, regional retail guidelines and other deliverables to enable leadership approval and project partner success
  • Manage projects, in collaboration with other internal team members and agency partners
  • Act or assist in acting as liaison between the TNF Brand Creative design studio, vendors, and subcontractors including visits to project sites and vendor facilities to oversee fabrication and installation
  • Be a true product expert, focused on holistic, product-driven narratives that showcase our innovative heritage that enables explorers to do the things they love, while elevating the in-person retail experiences that define our brand in the outdoor space

What do you need to succeed?
We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you'll need to succeed and excel. While a formal architectural education and applicable undergraduate /Arch degrees are nice to have, we are most interested in your 7+ years of technically-progressive professional experience designing spaces, with a focus on integrating storytelling and brand identity, retail experience and brand design preferred.
The foundation skills you will need in this position are:
  • An exceptional portfolio that clearly demonstrates big-idea thinking, conceptual rigor, and built outcomes, across architecture, interiors, and experiential work
  • Proven 2D & 3D concept visualization expertise - from hand sketching through polished presentation renderings
  • A positive, collaborative, and idea-driven mindset with an ability to comfortably partner across disciplines including visual merchandising, product, lighting, graphics, and fabrication
  • The ability to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately within all technical software tools (Rhino, Enscape, VRay, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchup, Keynote etc.) Grasshopper, Unreal and AR/VR/XR experience a plus
  • Demonstrated success in establishing best-in-class retail consumer experiences, global retail concept rollouts, and fixture program prototyping and value engineering
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills - a self-starter with the ability to work both independently and in a matrixed team environment
  • Exceptional level of attention to detail and a mastery of organizational and time management skills - an ease in prioritizing work and resources across engagements based on short and long-term needs
  • Proficient written, verbal communication and editing skills
  • A genuine interest in footwear, apparel, and performance products, and how they translate into physical retail expressions
  • A deep understanding of and passion for contemporary art, culture, design and outdoor experience preferred

Hiring Range:
$116,640.00 USD - $145,800.00 USD annually
Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential.
