Assistant manager - Customer Experience Champion (Full-Time)

This full-time role is ideal for an energetic individual who excels at customer service, possesses a sharp business sense, and is ready to take ownership of daily operations in the absence of the Store Manager. Your Day-to-Day Impact:
As a Storage Consultant, you'll be the friendly face and reliable resource for our customers, ensuring our facilities run smoothly and efficiently. You'll play a crucial role in:
  • Driving Sales & Occupancy: Skillfully convert phone and walk-in inquiries into rentals, effectively showcasing the benefits of Value Store It solutions.
  • Financial Stewardship: Accurately handle cash, manage daily bank deposits, and assist with collections to support our financial goals.
  • Exceeding Customer Expectations: Provide exceptional service by greeting customers warmly, resolving their concerns promptly, and proactively presenting our offerings.
  • Operational Precision: Maintain accurate customer records, utilize our computer systems proficiently, and contribute to overall administrative efficiency.
  • Facility Management: Oversee the facilities' curb appeal, conduct daily lock checks, perform light maintenance and cleaning duties, and ensure our properties meet the highest standards of appearance. You'll also guide Maintenance Workers when the Property Manager is off-site.
  • Community Engagement: Actively promote Value Store It Self Storage within the local community.

What We're Looking For:
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a customer-facing role, direct sales, or retail.
  • A positive attitude, strong integrity, and the ability to adapt to new challenges.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with customers and management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows environments and experience with QuickBooks is a plus.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to different sites.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Prior leadership experience or the desire to grow into a supervisory role is highly valued.

Work Environment & Schedule:
Your work will be a blend of office duties and outdoor facility tasks, requiring comfort in various weather conditions. Our typical operating hours are Monday-Friday 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Saturday 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM, and Sunday 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM at most locations. You'll generally have two days off per week, not typically Sundays.
