Job description

Responsibilities

Job Summary: Lead the work of overnight Night Stockers and is responsible for the overall ordering, receiving and stocking of product during the overnight hours.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Communicates daily with Grocery Manager to review nightly goals
  • Responsible for proper, accurate ordering as well as managing out-of-stocks and proper rotation of product.
  • Ensures the execution of the nightly work plan as it relates to stocking standards and merchandising for night shift.
  • Report/Record all problems that occur during the shifts to the Grocery Manager
  • Responsible for handling Night Stocker issues/concerns and communicating the issues/concerns to the Grocery Manager
  • Responsible for communicating any schedule changes and/or time and attendance issues that occur overnight to the Grocery Manager
  • Train all Night Stockers on the proper overnight operations procedures to include but not limited to stocking of merchandise and the company standards on stocking productivity
  • Supervise, direct and coach Partners to ensure productivity goals are maintained
  • Responsible for maintaining the organization of the backroom operations overnight to include the receiving area.
  • Ensure preparation and organization of staging areas for new deliveries. Direct and assist Partners with unloading trucks as needed.
  • Ensure that all merchandise is presented according to established practices and plans. Utilize merchandise fixtures properly including presentation, product pricing and signage.
  • Ensure that POG's are adhered to in the stocking process
  • Report any pallet jack, forklift or other equipment issues to the Overnight Operations Manager for resolution.
  • May occasionally serve as backup in absence of the Overnight Operations Manager.

Qualifications & Key Requirements:
Work Experience:

  • 2-3 years of prior supervisory experience - Preferred
  • Previous experience leading a night crew highly - Preferred
  • 3-6 months prior stocking experience - Required
  • Experienced in making sound decisions independently in any situation or circumstance - Required
  • Previous Customer Service experience highly - Preferred
  • Proven experience proactively communicating with indirect teams and/or teams that work different hours or remotely.
  • Prior Forklift/Powerjack experience


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proven experience proactively communicating with indirect teams and/or teams that work different hours or remotely. - Required
  • Ability to keep multiple parties abreast of issues, changes and/or events that may affect them. - Required
  • Ability to independently prioritize issues quickly and manage time and resources appropriately. - Required
  • Ability to work overnight schedule - Required
  • Able to operate pallet jack/baler - Required
  • Prior Forklift/Powerjack experience - Required
  • Ability to work without supervision, make independent decisions that reflect a strong understanding of the business, reflect the CM culture and protect business interest. - Required
  • Proven time management and organizational skills - Required
  • Ability to know when and how to handle issues or elevate issues to DM, Director and/or GM. - Required
  • Ability to read, understand and comply with Food Safety & Sanitation requirements, equipment operating and maintenance instructions. - Required

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

  • Exposed to moving mechanical parts; small, confined spaces; cleaning chemicals and airborne particles
  • The noise level is moderate
  • Lift moderately heavy loads up to 75 lbs. individually with potential for heavier loads when team-lifting.
  • Ability to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and squat
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to push/pull heavy loads of 75 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced work environment with productivity requirements
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to small, confined areas and may be exposed to a variety of cleaning chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The environment is fast paced and requires long periods of time standing and walking with a moderate amount of repetitive hand motions.
