Job description

Located within walking distance of Nationwide Arena and the trendy Arena District, Hyatt Regency Columbus redefines the modern hotel experience. We offer 633 renovated guest rooms and spacious suites and 70,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. We are connected to the Greater Columbus Convention Center and steps to the Short North Arts District, ours is the hotel in which to meet and play in downtown Columbus.

Because we are looking for a Stewarding Supervisor!
This role leads and supports the hotel stewarding staff (dishwashers) in supporting our culinary, banquet, and restaurant teams to successfully execute large functions by providing logistical support, cleaning, and transportation throughout hotel spaces.
This is an hourly role that pays $19/hour
What does the ROLE entail?
  • Leading a diverse team of colleagues
  • Responsible for supervising the cleanliness of all hotel China, silverware, and cookware
  • Attend weekly meetings for accuracy of hotel events, audit kitchen and food & beverage areas throughout the hotel, assist colleagues in day to day business operations, help maintain operational standard for employee cafeteria
  • Responsible for maintaining the organization & cleanliness of all kitchen spaces within the hotel, keeping hotel in line for all Health Department Inspections & Ecosure yearly audits
  • Assists stewarding manager with keeping an organized accurate inventory throughout the hotel areas
  • Act as a liaison between kitchen and banquet departments ensuring food safety protocols are met
  • Ability to work within a team-oriented environment
  • Fast-paced environment that requires heavy amounts of walking and continuous standing
  • Timely and accurate delivery of China, silverware, cookware and food for event functions within the hotel, and timely replenishment of said items when necessary
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings
    (up to midnight or 1am), weekends and holidays.
    Shift will typically be mid-shift to PMs

Your EXPERIENCE:
  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment
  • 1-2 years of food & beverage experience in a banquet setting preferred, supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to lift, pull, and push a moderate amount of weight consistently (10-50 pounds)
  • Capable of standing and walking for long periods of time
