Job description

Job Title: Quality Control Technician - Sterile Processing
Location: Long Beach, CA
Type: Contract | 14 Weeks
Shift & Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8-Hour Shifts | 40 Hours/Week

Position Overview:
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking Quality Control Technician - Sterile Processing for an exciting Travel or Local job in Long Beach, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality inspections of surgical instruments, trays, and sterile processing workflows
  • Follow ANSI/AAMI standards, manufacturer Instructions for Use (IFUs), SOPs, and company work instructions
  • Decontaminate, clean, inspect, assemble, and package surgical instruments and equipment
  • Verify instrument cleanliness, functionality, and integrity prior to sterilization and distribution
  • Identify, document, and report missing, damaged, or non-compliant instruments
  • Operate washers, sterilizers, autoclaves, and related sterile processing equipment
  • Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, inventory, and quality metrics
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with supply management activities
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of processing equipment and workstations
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention, safety, and quality assurance requirements
  • Collaborate with operations and processing teams to support workflow efficiency
  • Participate in training programs, competency assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 2 years of Sterile Processing experience required
  • CRCST or equivalent Sterile Processing Certification required
  • CIS or equivalent Sterile Processing Certification required
  • Strong experience with instrument decontamination, assembly, inspection, and sterilization procedures
  • Strong understanding of infection prevention and sterilization best practices
  • Familiarity with ANSI/AAMI standards and manufacturer IFUs
  • Experience operating washer disinfectors, sterilizers, autoclaves, and related equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance
  • Basic computer proficiency and experience with electronic tracking systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Quality Control or Quality Assurance experience in a sterile processing environment preferred
  • Experience supporting process improvement and compliance initiatives preferred
