Job description

Overview

CentraState Medical Center is currently seeking a Sterile Processing Aide in the Sterile Processing department. Reporting to the Executive Director of Perioperative Services, this role is responsible for directing and supervising the overall operations of the Sterile Processing Department. The manager works both within the department and as part of the Medical Center's Management Team to implement patient care and service goals and objectives established by senior leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Checks outdates on exchange carts.
  • Replenishes patient care carts (GU, code cart, chest cart, isolation, e.g.).
  • Transports case carts according to policy and procedure.
  • Distributes patient care equipment in a timely manner.
  • Rounds according to schedule to collect used/dirty equipment.
  • Rotates stock as needed with attention to outdates.
  • Cleans, stores and sets up traction following set procedures.
  • Picks up used traction and returns equipment to Sterile Processing.
  • Ensures soiled equipment is retrieved from patient care area in a timely manner. All contaminated equipment should be covered for transport.
  • Monitors patient care equipment. Works with units to create par levels when necessary.
  • Tracks all equipment and exchange carts using Impress.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous hospital experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Compensation Range: $16.00 - $25.60 per hour

 

The compensation above reflects the established range from CentraState Healthcare System (CSHS) for this position at the time the job was posted. CSHS considers many factors to determine compensation, including education, experience, skills, licenses, certification, and training.  As such, team member compensation may fall outside this range. 

Additionally, the compensation range reflects base salary and does not include extra shift rates or incentives tied to quality, productivity, etc., as applicable.

The benefits outlined also reflect CSHS' policy at the time of posting.  Benefits as are made available to other similarly situated team members of CSHS, although participation is at all times in accordance with and subject to the eligibility and other provisions of such plans and programs.
