Who gets paid more, CNA or sterile processing technician?

Generally, sterile processing technicians tend to earn higher wages than CNAs because their role involves specialized skills in sterilizing and handling surgical instruments, often requiring technical training or certification. Attention to detail, reliability, and strong organizational skills are important soft skills for this role. These competencies ensure that surgical instruments are properly cleaned and sterilized, supporting patient safety and smooth clinical operations.

What are some common challenges faced by Sterile Processing Aides, and how can they be managed effectively?

Many facilities also provide mentorship and support from senior team members to help new aides adapt quickly and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
