Position: Senior Buyer
Location: Toms River, NJ (onsite)
Salary: $90,000-$100,000 with 7% bonus potential

Heyco Products Corp. is seeking a Senior Buyer to join our team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for coordinating the procurement of raw materials, components, equipment, and services while ensuring the best possible pricing, quality, delivery, and supplier performance. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, purchasing experience, and the ability to build effective vendor relationships.
Responsibilities
  • Review requisitions and MRP requirements to prepare purchase orders and bid requests
  • Monitor inventory levels and schedule deliveries to support production and inventory goals
  • Develop and maintain qualified competitive supplier sources
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, lead times, and delivery schedules
  • Track supplier performance and support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, cost, and delivery
  • Monitor supplier and company on-time delivery performance goals
  • Coordinate outside services and resolve vendor-related issues to successful completion
  • Maintain purchasing records, databases, quotations, and procurement documentation
  • Work closely with Engineering to ensure supplier understanding of specifications and compliance requirements
  • Notify management of MRP setting concerns based on demand trends and operational needs
  • Support purchasing policies and procedures to ensure compliance and auditable controls
  • Participate in supplier reviews and performance evaluations

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred
  • 5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Professional procurement certification is a plus
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems
  • Strong negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
