Job description

Delta Precision Components and its' divisions for Delta Gear and Delta Research is an AS9100, ISO9001, and IATF 16949 registered facility which manufactures precision gear products for the aerospace and automotive industry. We are also a NADCAP approved non-destructive testing facility and currently provide Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) and Nital Etch.
We currently have openings for Precision Quality Inspector. The successful candidate will be required to perform a wide variety of Quality and technical tasks requiring thorough knowledge of manufacturing procedures and practice.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Perform quality inspections on precision machined products to ensure they meet specified standards and requirements
  • Read and understand complex blueprints and operational sketches.
  • Utilize various measurement tools and equipment such as coordinate measuring machines (CMM), micrometers, calipers, profilometers, optical comparators, height gages, indicators, bore gages, depth mics, and other precision instruments
  • Conduct quality audits to assess compliance with quality management systems and procedures
  • Collect and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement in the quality control process
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions
  • Assist in root cause investigations and corrective-action activities related to product and process quality issues.
  • Follow established protocols and standard operating procedures to maintain consistency in quality assurance processes

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's degree preferred.
  • Previous related experience in quality assurance required, working with precision machined components.
  • Must be proficient in the use of micrometers, calipers, height gages, bore gages, optical comparators, and CMM inspection equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong blueprint / GD&T knowledge. Must be able to independently interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T callouts for inspection planning and product acceptance.
  • Must be experienced completing first article reports, inspection records, SPC documentation, and nonconformance documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of quality systems, quality management principles, and quality control techniques

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • This position will be on the manufacturing floor/quality lab on a daily basis.
  • Will be required to comply with the Company's safety requirements, including to wear safety glasses in all production areas.
  • Frequent walking, bending, stooping and reaching.
  • May be required to lift up to 30 lbs on occasional basis.
