In the heart of Madison County lies Madisonhealth, one of the last sustaining county-owned hospitals in the State of Idaho. A 69 bed, not-for-profit hospital, Madisonhealth is seeking to hire a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS).
The MLS performs and demonstrates proficiency in a variety of tests to include Chemistry, Microbiology, Blood Bank, Hematology, Coagulation, and Molecular Diagnostics.

Education:
Baccalaureate degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences
-OR-
Baccalaureate degree in a related science curriculum including prescribed hours and courses in chemistry, biology, and math; approximately 2000 hours in a an accredited clinical (hospital based) program
-OR-
Credentialing as a MT, followed by additional work at an accredited college or university which culminates in a baccalaureate degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or a related curriculum. The total college courses taken in chemistry, biology, and math must be the same as those required in the above options.

Graduation from an accredited school of clinical laboratory sciences; including additional credentialing by an agency approved the US Department of Education or approved by the National Commission for Health Certifying Agencies (NCHCA)
-OR-
Demonstration of equivalent education gained by non-traditional methods through successful completion of a nationally recognized credentialing mechanism
-OR-
Sufficient clinical experience in included in accredited baccalaureate programs in the clinical laboratory sciences or through one of the alternate credentialing routes available to medical technologists.
Qualifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • DOT Collector Certification (within 90 days of hire)
  • Breath Alcohol Certification (within 1 year of hire)
