Position Summary:

The Instructional Designer is responsible for working independently, with limited supervision, to design, develop, and deliver high-quality instructional materials and training programs that align with our company objectives. Requires a higher level of creativity, problem-solving skills, and expertise in instructional design principles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and design engaging, effective, and interactive learning materials, including eLearning courses or instructor-led training, job aids, and other resources.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather and organize content, ensuring accuracy and relevance to the target audience.

  • Manage and execute the instructional design process for assigned projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.

  • Review and edit training materials for clarity, consistency, and instructional effectiveness.

  • Propose and develop creative solutions to enhance the learning experience and improve existing training programs.

  • Coach and provide guidance to lower-level professionals within the team, aiding in their professional development.

  • Collaborate with peers and managers to address complex instructional design challenges and contribute to the improvement of learning processes.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications and Competencies: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years related experience.

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Instructional Design, Human Resources or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Skills Required:

  • Advanced knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning theory.

  • Proficiency in designing and developing a variety of learning materials, including eLearning courses, instructor-led training, job aids, and assessments.

  • Ability to create engaging and interactive learning experiences.

  • Practical knowledge of project management techniques to oversee instructional design projects from initiation to completion.

  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

  • Familiarity with eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and Learning Management Systems (LMS); Basic graphic design skills or proficiency in using graphic design software.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with stakeholders (regular updates, manage expectations, gather feedback); change management skills (managing and communicating change).

  • Ability to create clear and coherent instructional materials.

  • Strong attention to detail for reviewing and editing training materials.

Qualifications Preferred:

  • Experience Minimum 2 years experience in training or facilitation role within the indirect auto finance market, banking/finance company/auto industry.

  • Education Advanced training or certifications in human resources, talent development, or related fields.

  • Travel 10-20% - as required.

  • Must have reliable transportation and live within a commutable distance to one of the following cities: Houston, TX; Auburn Hills, MI
