Position

Key to delivering world-class products to our customers is the ability to develop, optimize, and continuously improve manufacturing processes that achieve the highest standards of quality, cost, and efficiency. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to support the production of precision coil tubing assemblies for our aerospace customer. This role will focus on advancing manufacturing capabilities for critical processes within our orbital welding production and assembly. The Manufacturing Engineer will partner with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Program Management teams to develop robust processes, troubleshoot technical challenges, improve equipment performance, and ensure consistent production of flight-critical tubing assemblies that meet stringent aerospace requirements. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who is passionate about manufacturing, enjoys working directly with production teams, and is eager to apply engineering principles to improve processes that support the future of space exploration.

Responsibilities

  • Operate orbital welding equipment to join coil tubing to precise specifications, maintaining tight tolerances and repeatable weld quality.
  • Set up, calibrate, and monitor level winder equipment to produce uniform, properly tensioned coils free of kinks, scratches, or deformation.
  • Perform in-process and final visual and dimensional inspection of welds and tubing, identifying defects and rejecting non-conforming product.
  • Document weld parameters, inspection results, and production data accurately to support full traceability and quality requirements.
  • Follow detailed work instructions, procedures, and quality standards with precision and consistency.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and FOD-free work area consistent with quality standards.
  • Conduct routine equipment maintenance and report malfunctions or quality concerns to supervision promptly.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Adapt to changing production priorities and schedules to support critical customer delivery requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline preferred.
  • Recent graduate or 0-3 years of manufacturing, engineering, internship, or co-op experience willing to perform a highly technical, hands on role.
  • Strong interest in manufacturing, automation, welding technology, and hands-on problem solving.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions and technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with CAD, ERP, or manufacturing systems is a plus.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take ownership of projects.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, precision manufacturing, or regulated industries is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in welding, machine operation, or precision manufacturing; orbital welding experience desired.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality and accuracy.
