Job Description Summary
The Para-professional supports instructors in delivering an engaging and hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) Summer Academy program. This role assists in facilitating interactive lessons, supervising students, and promoting a positive, incorporative learning environment focused on curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or GED equivalency.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Must be able to prepare instructional materials, guiding small group activities, supporting students with varying learning needs, and ensuring classroom organization and safety.
The para-professional encourages student participation in fun, inquiry-based projects and helps reinforce core concepts in science, engineering, and math through collaborative and experiential learning.
The ideal candidate is energetic, dependable, and passionate about working with students, with an interest in STEM/STEAM education and fostering a love of learning in a dynamic summer setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Six (6) months experience working with youth or young adults in an academic or recreational setting.
