The Mechanical Engineer will work closely with Senior Mechanical Engineers to ensure smooth execution of mechanical and manufacturing engineering activities. This role focuses on document control, process documentation, data collection, organization, and handson engineering support tasks. The Mechanical Engineer will help maintain engineering quality, track equipment and tooling information, prepare technical documents, and coordinate the flow of information across engineering, operations, and quality teams. This is an onsite position supporting active manufacturing operations.

This position requires on-site presence.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Engineering Documentation & Data Management:
  • Collect, organize, and maintain engineering documents, including process sheets, work instructions, drawings, tooling records, and revision histories.
  • Prepare and update mechanical drawings, diagrams, and basic schematics under direction of senior engineering staff.
  • Assist in generating Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and tooling inventories in ERP/MRP systems.
  • Support documentation of quality checkpoints, dimensional reports, and nonconformance data logs.
  • Ensure proper version control and structure for engineering and manufacturing documents.

Process & Technical Support:
  • Assist in gathering process parameters, dimensional measurements, and mill performance data for engineering analysis.
  • Perform routine data entry and preliminary engineering assessments (e.g., measurement checks, basic calculations).
  • Support the development and revision of work instructions, SOPs, and process documentation.
  • Participate in handson activities during mill setups, production trials, and changeovers under senior supervision.
  • Help track tooling usage, wear rates, and replacement schedules.

Operational Coordination:
  • Work with Operations, Maintenance, and Quality teams to collect operational feedback and translate it into organized engineering notes.
  • Help prepare materials, tools, and documentation needed for trials, rootcause analyses, corrective actions, or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with scheduling and coordination for engineering tests, sampling, and documentation reviews.

Continuous Improvement & Support Tasks:
  • Identify opportunities to improve data organization, documentation workflows, and communication paths.
  • Assist in monitoring and organizing preventive maintenance records for millrelated components.
  • Support senior engineers in implementing process improvements, equipment updates, and new tooling introductions.
  • Maintain high levels of accuracy, completeness, and organization across all engineering-related files and communications.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or materials engineering (or related field).
  • 0-2 years of engineering experience (internships/coops acceptable).
  • Proficiency in CAD software.
  • Familiarity with mechanical fundamentals: stress, strain, fits/tolerances.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
