Job description

Service Manager

New York City, NY

Reports to: Assistant General Manager /General Manager

Salary: 90-95K

About the Role: One of New York's most iconic and enduring fine

dining institutions, is seeking a hands-on Service Manager to lead the floor and elevate the

hospitality — a true service-first leader who also understands the operational backbone of a

high-volume steakhouse, from liquor stock to nightly close-out procedures.

Key Responsibilities

- Own the guest experience on the floor: table touches, VIP recognition, and resolving

service issues in real time

- Lead, coach, and develop the FOH team — servers, runners, and bussers — to maintain

Gallagher's standard of service excellence

- Set the floor for service each shift, manage seating flow, and support the host stand

during peak periods

- Assist with ordering, receiving, and organizing liquor and beverage stock; monitor par

levels and rotation

- Manage nightly close-out procedures — cash reconciliation, POS close, end-of-night

reporting, and securing the space

- Partner with the kitchen to ensure smooth pacing and communication between FOH and

BOH

- Uphold and enforce all health, safety, and alcohol service compliance standards

- Support pre-shift meetings and ongoing service training

- Step in to support beverage and bar operations as needed

Ideal Candidate Profile

- 3+ years of management experience in a high-volume, fine dining or steakhouse

environment

- Service-obsessed leader with a genuine passion for hospitality and guest experience

- Comfortable with the operational side of the business — inventory, stock management,

and closing procedures

- Strong presence on the floor; leads by example and thrives during high-volume,

high-pressure service

- Experience with POS systems, cash handling, and nightly reporting

- NYC elevated dining or steakhouse background strongly preferred but not required
