Job Summary We are currently seeking a Senior Operations Research Analyst. This position is a full-time opportunity located in the greater Washington, DC area. Battelle's Infrastructure Safety and Security (ISS) business is pursuing a high-profile support program for a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) client. The scope of this program includes a full spectrum of research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E) support. As we prepare for this opportunity, we are actively recruiting highly qualified candidates for anticipated roles. The Senior Operations Research Analyst will focus on advanced problem-solving and analysis, evaluating complex issues, developing and recommending solutions, and applying deep subject-matter expertise to real-world challenges across a broad range of technical and business domains. Responsibilities As a Senior Operations Research Analyst, the selected individual will apply advanced analytical expertise to support DHS programs across a wide range of technical and operational domains. Responsibilities may include: * Evaluating complex operational and programmatic issues and developing data-driven recommendations and solutions for DHS clients
* Applying expertise in technical fields such as economic and behavioral analysis, data analytics, biometric analysis, and communication and network systems to support mission requirements
* Supporting business process improvement initiatives including performance management, statistical process control, organizational assessment, and regulatory compliance activities
* Conducting modeling and simulation, strategic and business planning, and decision support activities to advance program objectives
* Assisting with program planning and oversight, exercise development and execution, and program evaluation
* Supporting system-level analysis and system integration efforts, including assessment of threats and vulnerabilities
* Providing technical assessment and evaluation support to complement government technical experts in applying acquisition efforts and RDT&E toward the DHS mission
* Communicating findings and recommendations effectively in written and verbal formats to diverse stakeholders, including senior government personnel
Key Qualifications * Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience with a background in systems engineering
* Expertise in one or more of the following technical fields: economic and behavioral analysis, data analytics, biometric analysis, chemical/biological/radiological defense capabilities, or communication and network systems
* Background in one or more of the following business areas: business process reengineering, performance management, statistical process control, individual and organizational assessment and evaluation, process modeling and simulation, strategic and business planning, change management, organizational development, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, or situational awareness and decision support
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
* Proven ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats with diverse stakeholders
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities independently
* Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain DHS Suitability
Preferred Qualifications * DHS SE Level 2, DAWIA Engineering and Technical Management Practitioner Level 2/3, and/or INCOSE certification(s)
* Prior experience supporting DHS programs
* Active DHS Suitability
* Experience providing assistance with program planning and oversight, exercise development and execution, and program evaluation
* Experience with system-level analysis, system integration support, and understanding of threats and vulnerabilities
* Experience with technical assessment and evaluation to support government technical experts in applying acquisition efforts and RDT&E toward accomplishing the DHS mission
Compensation Data Battelle is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role is $158,000-$178,000 per year, in addition to our comprehensive benefits package. A candidate's salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to education, relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.
