The Data Scientist leverages machine learning, statistical modeling, and modern AI techniques to solve healthcare business problems. You will develop predictive models, build AI-powered solutions, and deliver insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
This is a Full Time, remote, Data Science Analyst role.
What You'll Do
  • Analysis, Model Development & AI Solutions:
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns and opportunities in healthcare data
  • Develop predictive models and machine learning solutions under guidance of senior team members
  • Document model methodology, assumptions, and results to ensure reproducibility
  • Design text analytics and classification pipelines using LLMs and NLP techniques
  • Build generative AI solutions including prompt engineering pipelines and LLM-based classification
  • Develop and evaluate AI agent workflows for business process automation
  • Work with LLM APIs and model serving endpoints to integrate AI into analytical solutions
  • Collaboration & Communication:
  • Partner with senior data scientists and stakeholders to align on project goals
  • Communicate findings and methodologies clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn by incorporating feedback effectively
  • Technical Execution:
  • Work with common healthcare data including claims, EHR, and laboratory datasets
  • Write clean, well-structured, and documented code in Python, PySpark, SQL
  • Use Git for version control and follow structured development practices

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related STEM field; or completion of an accredited data science or applied AI program
  • 3+ years of experience in data science, AI/ML or advanced analytics
  • Coursework or projects in applied machine learning and neural networks
  • Coursework or projects involving generative or agentic AI, LLMs, or NLP
  • Experience with Python, SQL, and common ML frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, etc.)
  • Healthcare data experience preferred
  • Familiarity with deploying ML/predictive models to production environments
  • Understanding of statistical methods, AI/ML algorithms, neural networks, and deep learning concepts
  • Familiarity with generative AI concepts: prompt engineering, LLM APIs, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
  • Exposure to agentic AI concepts and frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Python, SQL, and Git (version control)
  • Experience with the following is a plus:
  • Cloud: Azure, Databricks
  • Version Control: GitLab
  • IDE: VS Code

Premise provides its reasonable and genuinely expected range of compensation for this job of $75,000.00 - $87,000.00 annually. A number of factors will influence the rate offered for this position, including your experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other factors.
For individuals living in Washington or Colorado: Premise offers the following paid time off benefits. Employees will earn 0.0692 hours of paid time off per actual hours worked or based on standard schedule, per pay period, and will receive 10 paid holidays or an equivalent bank of hours aligned to schedule throughout the calendar year. Paid sick leave is satisfied by the paid time off accrual, detailed above.
