Job description

Position Sacramento Area Sewer District (SacSewer) is currently accepting applications for a Stationary Engineer I position. Applications will be screened after the following filing deadlines at 5PM: 6/8/26, 6/23/26 (Final) Stationary Engineers perform highly skilled and specialized work related to the operation, maintenance and repair of hydronic systems, pumps, condensers, compressors and related mechanical and electrical equipment used in District facilities. They receive lead direction from Stationary Engineer II or other higher-level personnel.

Minimum Qualifications: Either:1. Two years of full-time, paid experience operating, maintaining, repairing, and installing heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration, power systems, water treatment, fire life safety systems, or water and steam pressure boilers. Or:2.

A certificate or higher in Mechanical-Electrical Technology from Sacramento City College, or another accredited college or career school which has comparable curriculum. Or:3. A certificate of completion from a Federal/State approved Stationary Engineer apprenticeship program.
