Job description

Proof of the Pudding is an award-winning catering company throughout the Southeast with a commitment to creating quality culinary concepts from scratch. This standard was upheld through the expansion into Sports and Entertainment Hospitality Services by providing elevated concessions and premium offerings to collegiate stadiums, PGA golf tournaments, International Boat Shows, Professional Sports Teams, & more.

We are currently seeking a Warehouse Manager for Mississippi State University. This position will oversee the receiving and processing of incoming stock/product, preparing and completing orders for delivery or pickup for various Mississippi State Athletic events as well as performing inventory and quality control.

Mississippi State University is a large campus in the heart of Mississippi where the Bulldogs reign supreme. Football games bring in 65,000 fans and their new, top of the line baseball facility houses the 2021 College World Series Champions.

Qualifications

  • Managing all warehouse staff: Warehouse Associates, loading dock workers, and temporary workers.
  • Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the warehouse and associated offices.
  • Creating equipment pull forms and pulling equipment for events.  Must become familiar with equipment terminology.
  • Unpacking and organizing equipment returned to warehouse.
  • Ensure monthly inventory is counted and submitted.
  • Performs transfers of products and/or merchandise to and from the warehouse
  • Responsible for receiving products and merchandise, checking for quality and damages to items, and the proper storage of the delivered products and merchandise
  • Responsible for operating equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
  • Assists warehouse team with equipment & inventory control.
  • Processes requests for supplies, prepares merchandise for delivery, and prepares packages for shipping according to established procedures
  • Responsible for both pre & post event set-up/break down responsibilities
  • Ensures security of company assets
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned by manager

Performs other related duties as needed.

Education and/or Experience

  • 2+ years of warehouse lead experience
  • Must be available for a variety of shift times (nights and weekends are needed)
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, ability to be DOT certified and have the ability/willingness to drive box trucks.
  • Experience in operating common warehouse machinery including forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.

Specialized Skills:

  • Must be a team player and possess great communication skills
  • Must be comfortable working in a warehouse environment and following all safety protocols
  • Must have a strong work ethic and be highly organized
  • Must be proactive and hands-on

Work Environment 

The work environment for this position ranges daily. On average 20% of the typical job duties will include office work while 80% of the duties will be performed as the “boots on the ground” manager. The work environment will largely be in the warehouse, associated offices, and onsite at events.

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of standing, moving through a limited space, and walking on various surfaces
  • Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items
  • Must have ability to occasionally lift up to 60 lbs

Position Salary & Benefits:

  • This is a salary position with a range of $45,000-$60,000/year.
  • Proof is pleased to provide all full-time eligible employees with Basic Life and AD&D as well as long term disability at no cost to employees
  • Full-time eligible employees may choose to enroll in optional benefits, including Medical, Dental, Vision, and Voluntary Life and AD&D, Short Term Disability, Voluntary Accident, Voluntary Critical Illness, and Voluntary Hospitality Indemnity
