Job description

Client is seeking a Corporate Tax Manager to join our Corporate Tax Solutions practice in Manhattan, NY. Additional approved locations include Melville, NY and Iselin, NJ.
As a Corporate Tax Manager, you will lead business income tax planning, corporate compliance, and ASC 740 income tax accounting (provision preparation and audit support). You'll manage multiple client engagements, collaborate with other practice areas, and be the primary tax relationship point for clients. This role provides exposure to varied, complex tax issues, strong career growth opportunities, and a culture of collaboration across offices.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead client engagements from start to finish, including planning, executing, directing, and completing corporate tax projects within budget.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor senior associates, associates, and interns; conduct performance reviews.
  • Manage ASC 740 income tax provision engagements, including review and audit support.
  • Review corporate tax returns prepared by staff; identify tax-saving opportunities.
  • Research and consult on various federal, state, and international tax matters.
  • Respond to IRS, state, and other tax authority inquiries.
  • Manage vendor and client relationships, building trust and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with specialists across the practice, including the Washington National Tax Office.
  • Participate in professional development and training programs.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to professional standards.
Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)
  • Active CPA license (NY or NJ) OR Juris Doctorate
  • 4-7 years of progressive corporate tax compliance and ASC 740 provision experience (preparation, review, audit support).
  • Public accounting experience with a Top 15 accounting firm in recent experience.
  • Corporate tax experience supporting large, multi-state, national, or global companies.
  • Willingness to work onsite at least 2 days per week.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Professional services firm background.
  • Experience with ONESOURCE Tax Provision software.
  • Strong client service, communication, and presentation skills.
  • History of stable career progression (no frequent job hopping).
