Job description

First Class Air Support is currently seeking a Controller to develop and support short and long-term operational strategies by managing company budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting processes. This position will produce thorough financial-status reports for senior management to help improve efficiency and aid in continued growth.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior management by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points
  • Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to current economic landscape
  • Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines
  • Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs, and both team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures
  • Establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on a bi-weekly, monthly, and annual basis in conjunction with VP Finance- Corporate Controller and CFO
  • Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, upholding federal, state, and local legal standards by remaining knowledgeable about existing, new, and future legislation
  • Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow
  • Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership to create an environment of trust and productivity
  • Other duties as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Professional accounting certification, including CPA, CMA, or CA preferred
  • Seven or more years of experience in a professional accounting position
  • Two or more years of experience in a management role
  • Experience in aviation or MRO industry a plus!
  • High energy self-starter
  • Demonstrable capacity for attention-to-detail, adaptability, and creativity
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly proficient data manipulation and analytical skills
  • Professional demeanor
  • Knowledge of finance law and regulatory standards

Physical and Work Condition Requirements:

  • This job may have physical requirements that are considered sedentary work. Sedentary work involves sitting for long periods of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking, hearing, and visual acuity and occasional lifting to 15 pounds.
