What are Stat Meds?

Stat Meds, short for 'stat medications,' are medications that are ordered to be administered immediately to a patient due to urgent medical need. The term 'stat' comes from the Latin word 'statim,' meaning 'immediately.' These medications are typically used in emergency situations where rapid intervention is necessary to stabilize a patient's condition. Stat Meds are prioritized over routine or scheduled medications, and healthcare providers must act quickly to ensure they are given as soon as possible.

Job description

VETERANS AND RETIREES ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY!

Are you looking for purpose in your spare time?
Do you want to help improve the quality of life of members in the community?
Would you rather spend your work days out and about rather than cooped up in a building?

If all apply to you, then you should apply to STAT Medical Rides for part-time work.
We invite our part-time drivers to choose the days of availability that work for them out of these options:
  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday
  • Tuesday & Thursday
  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
  • Thursday & Friday
While the nature of our business causes frequent schedule fluctuations, our typical driving hours are between 5AM and 5PM. Drivers are expected to have open availability on their scheduled day to work. While we aim to have everyone home by 5PM, we cannot guarantee it as appointments can run late.
You will use a company provided vehicle and be required to pick the vehicle up at our office in Horicon at the start of each shift and return it at the conclusion of your shift.
Some things we'll need from you...

  • Superb customer service. We typically serve elderly and/or disabled populations. You will greatly impact this person's day and it is our mission to create a wonderful experience for them.
  • Great attendance and punctuality. Have you ever waited around for someone only to find out they weren't coming? It's quite the disappointing feeling. Do you know anyone on dialysis, chemo or other life sustaining treatments and what they go through if they miss an appointment? Have you ever had to scramble to clean up someone else's mess because they decided not to show up to work? All of these are very real problems that affect our team and our passengers when we aren't doing our part to hire reliable drivers.
  • Clean caregiver, criminal and driving record. Due to the responsibility of this position, transporting lives in your vehicle, our contracts with the companies we partner with state that we must run thorough background checks on all of our drivers. You must be able to pass this check.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen. Unfortunately use of CBD oil for anxiety, sleep and other legal reasons cannot be differentiated on the drug screen so this would disqualify you.
  • Use of your smartphone. Your timekeeping, communication with the office and trip performance will all be done on your smartphone using company apps.
  • The physical ability to walk, bend, push, pull and lift. You will need to walk in and out of hospitals and other facilities to assist your passenger to the vehicle. Sometimes you may need to push them in a wheel-chair or lift their walker into the vehicle.
If you meet these qualifications and are looking for the opportunity to help people, be outside and earn some extra money, take advantage of one of our part-time positions.
Please apply on our website at statmedicalrides.com or stop by our office to fill out an application.
