Senior Program Manager - P-8 Production Growth

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Production Growth, Senior Program Manager (Level M) to join the P-8 Program Management team in Tukwila, WA!
The P-8 Poseidon is the most advanced multi-mission maritime patrol aircraft in the world. As a commercial derivative, it touches multiple Boeing teams across our Commercial, Defense, and Services businesses.
This role serves as the central integrator of P-8 program growth strategy, bridging business capture, program startup, scalable capability insertion, and production delivery. The selected leader will translate strategic growth objectives into executable plans, ensuring alignment across contracts, functions, and leadership while driving disciplined contracting and program execution.
This role integrates across all three Boeing business units to drive value for our customers and the company. It operates at the intersection of Business Development, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Program Management, ensuring that growth campaigns are not only won but are executable, affordable, and operationally sustainable. It is accountable for establishing and maintaining program management rigor by leveraging the Enterprise Standard Gate Process (ESGP), baseline and change management processes, risk/issue/opportunity management processes, affordability initiatives, and performance visibility. It also plays a critical role in expanding domestic and international business while ensuring production system stability across a flagship franchise program within the Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers (MS&B) portfolio.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Lead integration of capture strategy with executable production plans, ensuring readiness from proposal through production and sustainment
  • Partner with Business Development to shape competitive, executable campaign strategies for domestic and international customers
  • Translate strategic objectives into integrated program plans, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and operating rhythms
  • Lead ESGP preparation and execution, ensuring program readiness, compliance, and disciplined decision-making
  • Establish and maintain baseline integrity, including cost, schedule, and technical performance alignment
  • Drive risk, issue, and opportunity management across the production value stream
  • Lead cross-functional alignment across Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Program Management
  • Lead and develop a small team of program management first-line leaders and individual contributors
  • Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement
  • Influence senior and executive stakeholders to drive alignment and timely decision-making
  • Serve as a primary interface with: executive leadership, functional partners, customers (U.S. and international), and the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA)
  • Communicate program performance, risks, and strategic insights with clarity and precision

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree or higher preferred; or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience with any of the following: Project/Program Management, Procurement, Supplier Program Management, Engineering, Production Engineering, and/or Supplier Quality
  • 5+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams and working with senior leadership
  • Experience with U.S. Military or international government aviation and experience partnering with government customers to deliver services and products
  • Experience in Program Management including cost, schedule and technical management
  • Experience in driving risk/issue/opportunity (RIO) items to closure through stakeholder coordination and action tracking
  • Experience translating data into actionable insights and recommendations
  • Experience using Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) and processes and methods

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience in the defense acquisition process (proposals, campaigns, or program startup)
  • Experience operating in a multi-contract or portfolio environment
  • Proven ability to develop high-performing teams
  • Demonstrated success influencing decisions at senior and executive levels
  • Experience driving affordability and production system improvements at scale
