What You'll Be Doing

The Installation and Controls Technician is responsible for the installation of new light commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment and related controls. This person organizes work dispatched to them by the Manager, maintains thorough and accurate records of all work performed, and clearly communicates the status of work with appropriate parties. This person will also be responsible for maintaining a fully equipped service vehicle which they will take home at night. This is a fulltime non-exempt hourly position.

  • Installing equipment and controls for light commercial applications
  • Conduct startup and commissioning processes on all HVAC systems
  • Driving company vehicles to and from home, Branch office, and work sites.
  • Coordinating and communicating work tasks with job team members.
  • Coordinating and communicating work status with city officials, crane operators, other contractors, jobsite customer representatives, and/or property managers.
  • Maintaining complete, accurate, and timely records in order to keep Branch Office well informed of work status.
  • Maintaining physical plans, paperwork, and files related to work.
  • Following all service procedures required by customer and/or RESSAC/Nextech including IVR check-in, backup paperwork, and picture documentation of work.
  • Monitoring and improving job safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Following all standards, policies, & procedures established by RESSAC/Nextech management.
  • Participating in training and testing programs.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.  
  • EPA Certification required.
  • NATE core certification preferred or able to obtain certification within 12 months.
  • English language speaking and writing proficiency required.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical plans
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as an HVACR Assistant Installer, Service Technician, or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work efficiently with technology tools including smart phones, laptops, tablets, and software required.
  • Ability to maintain light to moderate physical activity for an 8-hour period in outside environments with exposure to sun, wind, rain, heat, and cold required.
  • Ability to perform more strenuous physical activity including extended overhead work in ceilings, crawling and working in tight spaces, and periodically lifting objects weighing up to 75 lbs. required.
  • Travel within the State of California, up to 5 days at a time required.
  • Valid California driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
