Now Brewing - senior manager, Customer Packaging Innovation! #tobeapartner
From the beginning, Starbucks set out to be a different kind of company. One that not only celebrated coffee and the rich tradition, but that also brought a feeling of connection. We are known for developing extraordinary leaders who share this passion and are guided by their service to others.
In this role, you will shape the future of Starbucks customer experience, through the lens of best-in-class packaging that elevates Starbucks iconic beverages and accelerates business growth, while designing for end-of-life recyclability and compostability. From strategy to execution, you will identify problems to solve, develop briefs to identify solutions, lead packaging development and testing efforts, create learning plans, and commercialize packaging for scale. This role is highly collaborative, partnering with teams spanning Engineering, Sourcing, Operations, Product Safety & Quality, Marketing, Creative, Sustainability, Government Affairs, Public Affairs, Finance and others to innovate towards the next generation of Starbucks beverage packaging.
As a senior manager, Customer Packaging Innovation, you will...
  • Define and prioritize opportunities: Leverage internal insights and external marketplace trends to define key problems to solve and set strategic priorities around desired outcomes.
  • Identify solutions: Develop packaging experience briefs based on holistic Customer, Partner, Brand, Business and Planet requirements, setting the foundation for cross-functional teams to identify new packaging material or format solutions.
  • Lead development & testing efforts: Guide cross-functional teams in research, development and testing of packaging solutions, critically analyzing learnings to develop recommendations backed by data and insights.
  • Launch & optimize solutions: Bring packaging solutions to market with strong execution and go-to-market plans with customers and partners.
  • Drive internal momentum: Serve as a champion for our customers and partners through compelling storytelling to lead cross-functional teams to achieve ambitious goals, drive alignment with leaders and influence successful execution of key initiatives.

We'd love to hear from people with:
  • Experience leading end-to-end product or innovation strategy, inclusive of planning, briefing, development, testing, reporting and commercialization
  • Proven ability to build and nurture strong cross-functional relationships
  • Persuasive communication and storytelling skills to drive organizational focus and influence action across a broad range of cross functional and leadership audiences
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, balance multiple priorities, and maintain a bias for action
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to live Starbucks mission and values by contributing to a welcoming team culture, acting as a positive role model for delivering meaningful results and acting with courage
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, MBA preferred
