About This Role
We believe people should love what they do - in this role, you will be responsible for:
We are seeking a talented test engineer with a Mechanical or Test Engineering background to support a major US Air Force Program.  As a Test Engineer, you will perform planning, coordination, and execution of component, subsystem, and system level tests as well as other evaluation activities across the program.  A strong candidate will possess at least 2 years related experience.  You will have the opportunity to work in a multi-disciplined team environment and directly support our nation's war fighters.  Whether your desired career path is technical or leadership, Textron is highly diversified with a strong grow-from-within philosophy that offers exceptional opportunities for career progression.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and schedule test and evaluation activities to ensure that test requirements and objectives are met per customer/program requirements and engineering and quality standards
  • Prepare and/or review test plans, test procedures, test readiness reviews, and test reports for functional, environmental, and field tests
  • Support in-house and field data collection activities including setup and operation of data acquisition systems, accelerometers, strain gauges, high speed cameras, and other test instrumentation
  • Support test activities including product installation, integration, test, data acquisition, and analysis
  • Perform preliminary "quick look" analysis and provide post-test debriefs to engineering team and customers
  • Coordinate with appropriate program, engineering, and external organizations during test planning, execution, analysis, and reporting phases
  • Must be able to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and have good organizational skills
  • 10 - 15% Travel

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with 2 years related experience (Level II).
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with 5 years related experience (Level III).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in system-level and mechanical structure testing for defense or aerospace programs
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD standards (MIL-STD 810 or SMC-S-016)
  • Knowledge and/or experience using electrical/mechanical test instrumentation is a plus
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain Government Security Clearance; Active Secret clearance preferred
  • Must be able to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and have good organizational skills

*This role is open at multiple levels. Candidates will be hired at a level consistent with their background and experience

  • Level II: $92,600 - $139,600
  • Level III: $115,800 - $176,200
