Job Summary

Join our engineering team as a Test Engineer and play a critical role in validating and qualifying innovative digital and analog products from concept through production. In this hands-on, onsite role, you will develop and execute test strategies, design automated test systems and fixtures, perform root cause analysis.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

We are looking for engineers who enjoy solving difficult engineering problems, take ownership, and thrive with minimal supervision. This is a hands-on engineering role onsite where initiative, curiosity, and execution matter as much as technical skills.

The successful candidate will:

  • Take ownership of product qualification and validation activities, from planning through execution, with minimal supervision.
  • Drive test engineering activities proactively instead of waiting for assignments or detailed instructions.
  • Specify, develop, and execute qualification test plans and procedures for new and existing digital and analog products.
  • Design, build, debug, and improve automated test systems, test fixtures, and manufacturing test solutions.
  • Work closely with Electrical, Mechanical, Firmware, and Software Engineering teams during the Design Build Test Learn development cycle.
  • Evaluate designs early and provide Design for Test (DFT) recommendations that improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Investigate failures using engineering judgment, identify root causes, and drive issues to closure using factual data.
  • Support EVT, DVT, PVT, manufacturing validation, environmental qualification, and production test activities.
  • Design efficient, scalable, and standardized test solutions that improve engineering productivity.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to test processes, tools, automation, and documentation.
  • Develop Python-based test automation to communicate with DUTs, control laboratory equipment, collect data, and generate reports.
  • Prepare complete engineering documentation, including test strategies, procedures, fixture BOMs, software documentation, and validation reports.
  • Support overseas contract manufacturers during product introduction and manufacturing.
  • Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge across the organization.
Skills and Minimum Experience Required
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in test engineering, product validation, manufacturing engineering, or related hardware development.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize work, and deliver results with minimal supervision.
  • Self-driven, curious, and proactive engineer who enjoys taking ownership of technical problems.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a systematic approach to root cause analysis.
  • Strong Python programming skills for test automation using complex instrumentation.
  • Experience developing automated test software and communicating with instruments and DUTs using TCP/IP, serial, USB, IC, or similar interfaces.
  • Ability to read schematics, PCB layouts, and engineering drawings.
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, power supplies, DMMs, spectrum analyzers, or similar laboratory equipment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working across Electrical, Firmware, Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Software Engineering teams.
  • Experience with AI-assisted software development and pair programming.
  • Experience with Embedded Linux.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience with Audio Precision test instrumentation.
  • Boundary Scan / JTAG.
  • Mechanical design experience (SolidWorks or equivalent).
  • Fixture design and fabrication experience.
  • Experience with professional audio/video products.

The range for this position is $73,400.00  to $132,000.00. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant's experience and geographic location.
