About the Role:

  • Create comprehensive firmware verification plans covering NVMe standards, enterprise SSD protocols, and customer specifications (e.g., SMART, Trim, Get Log Page, OCP).
  • Design and deploy white-box, grey-box, and black-box automation tests using Python to validate security protocols and firmware functionality on a module-by-module basis.
  • Execute and own end-to-end testing across diverse platforms, including simulation, FPGA prototyping, and prototype SSD hardware.
  • Utilize deep SSD domain expertise to analyze weekly regression failures, root-cause complex firmware bugs, and drive issue resolution.
  • Partner closely with firmware development teams during code reviews to improve software architecture, expand test coverage, and elevate overall code quality.
  • Own test reporting and articulately communicate technical challenges, solutions, and mitigation plans to both engineering teams and management.

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, Digital Sciences, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or in an engineering-related occupation.

Position requires experience in:

  • SSD firmware testing and/or development.
  • SSD or NAND Flash development industry.
  • Code development using Python, C/C++, and Javascript.
  • Storage industry protocols including NVMe, ONFI, and TCG Opal.
  • Agile development, GIT development flow, Branch management and tools.
  • Test automation, testing methodologies and test tools.
  • Automated build, continuous integration, and test automation systems.

COMPENSATION: $110,000-$160,000
