If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you in Philadelphia, PA. Our healthcare partner is seeking a compassionate and organized individual to join their team as a Patient Care specialist. This role is pivotal in providing exceptional service and support to patients, ensuring their needs are met with efficiency and empathy.
In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that are essential to the smooth operation of patient services:
  • Answering patient calls and handling inquiries promptly, following protocols and service standards
  • Scheduling appointments (in person or by phone), confirming details, and rescheduling or canceling as needed
  • Managing patient arrival and departure activities, including collecting copays, obtaining insurance cards, signatures, and referrals, and updating records in the EMR
  • Communicating wait times and patient flow to both patients and staff
  • Verifying patient demographics, insurance eligibility, and benefits
  • Obtaining pre-authorizations, referrals, and coordinating benefits
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and safety
  • Anticipating patient needs and resolving issues promptly
  • Building positive relationships with patients, visitors, and staff
