The Construction Technician position is responsible for performing work associated with interior and exterior building envelopes. This work includes, but is not limited to, construction carpentry, finish carpentry, roofing, wall finishing, flooring, doors and windows, furniture and cabinets, ceilings, and wall hangings. These areas of responsibility can require work as an individual or in a team setting.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential Functions Statement(s)
• Rough carpentry: Construction of exterior and interior walls using lumber or metal stud, floor systems, roof systems, stairs, and entryways. Installation of drywall, underlayment, roofing, guttering, doors, windows, etc.
• Finish carpentry: Installation of various floor coverings such as carpet, tile, and hardwood. Installation and repair of ceilings and suspended ceiling systems. Installation of various wall coverings and finishing such as drywall and plaster finish, painting, staining, tile and grouting, etc. Installation of trim work.
• General construction and repair work: Including, but not limited to, installation of indoor and outdoor light fixtures, door and window hardware, and stair systems. Form building for concrete structures and flat work.
• The set up and safe use of wood shop machinery, electric and pneumatic tools, and various hand tools.
• Furniture and cabinet making and repairing.
• Window and door installation and repair.
• General locksmith services: Installing door and window hardware, changing lock cores, cutting keys.
• Installation of wall hangings, interior/exterior decorations, and signage.
• Special event backdrop and stage construction. Construction related to general event preparation.
• Other duties, as assigned.

Education:

• Completion of applicable trade school training is preferred.
• Wood shop experience in set up and safe operation of shop tools such as table saws, lathes, planers, etc. is preferred.
• Experience with various hand tools, cordless electric tools, and pneumatic tools.
• Manlift operator certification is preferred.
Communication/Language:
• Basic: Ability to read, listen to and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write and communicate simple correspondence.
Math Ability:
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Computer Skills:
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Gmail, Google, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Ability to learn and effectively use ADP time keeping system.
Certificates & Licenses
• Valid United States driver's license required
