Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION: STAGE CARPENTER

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

 
  1. Proficiency in wood construction

  2. Proficiency in interpreting drawings for construction purposes

  3. Ability to supervise crews

  4. Excellent written and oral communication skill

 

 

 

REPORTS TO: Technical Director at OCSAC

 

 

 

JOB GOAL: Assists Artistic Program Director in planning and scheduling construction and load-in of scenic elements. 

 

 

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 
  1.  Assists Artistic Program Director in layout and construction of scenic elements.

  2. May be assigned to draft and construct special projects for productions. Participates in strike of scenic elements after completion of production as during Strike.

  3. Must be proficient in the use of tools including hand and power tools, such as tape measures, squares, routers, saws, hammers, drills, screwdrivers, wrenches, planes, sanders and ladders; and hardware, including screws, nails, glue and dowel pins.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Compensation will be based on the board-approved Oldham County Schools Arts Center Theatre salary schedule.
