The Staff Review Appraiser will conduct thorough desk reviews of third-party and internal appraisal reports, ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal policies. This role plays a key part in reducing valuation risk and delivering high-quality assessments to support lending decisions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform appraisal review and quality assurance on residential and multi-family valuations
  • Provide technical feedback and guidance to appraisers and internal teams
  • Ensure all reports meet compliance with USPAP, regulatory guidelines, and internal standards
  • Identify data inconsistencies, valuation errors, and missing documentation
  • Collaborate with underwriting, sales, and risk management teams
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, regulatory changes, and appraisal best practices

Requirements
  • State-certified (Residential or General) appraiser license
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in appraisal review or valuation analysis
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements under USPAP and FIRREA
  • Proficiency with appraisal software and real estate databases (MLS, CoStar, Argus)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • MAI or ASA designation preferred
  • Experience reviewing production from delegated channels or with Non-QM lending criteria
