Job Description

You will be part of our Global Network engineering team responsible for architecting, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing our regional/local network infrastructure, ensuring high network performance/reliability, and delivering critical network services to meet business goals. 

Essentials Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Design, Plan, deploy, manage, optimize, and troubleshoot global network infrastructure at Corporate and manufacturing locations to meet the business requirements and growth demands, ensuring availability and performance. 

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to define network requirements, develop project scopes, and implement solutions that ensure performance and availability. 

  • Collaborate with IT leadership to design and implement an enterprise architecture frame form that supports robust IT infrastructure. 

  • Act as an escalation point for Network Operations team to troubleshoot complex network issues related to BGP, SD-WAN, VLAN, Spanning Tree, Security, network hardware/software, wireless, DHCP, DNS etc. 

  • Collaborate with the IT leadership and Global Network architecture team to incorporate company standards and preferred practices into regional site network builds. 

  • Ensure global network infrastructure is properly monitored. Act as a network engineering point of contact and Subject Matter Expert to respond to network incidents/service requests according to Service Level Agreements.  

  • Lead the development and modernization of the IT network infrastructure by developing automation tools while improving end user experience. 

  • Prepare and maintain up-to-date documentation, including network configurations, run books, and handover documents, detailing the deployment of solutions. 

  • Provide mentorship, technical leadership, and support to deployment team members, partner teams, and stakeholders. 

  • Interact/communicate with vendors, service providers, peers, stakeholders, and business units for effective integration/operations of services and systems. 

  • Lead, plan and participate in IT projects and Maintenance Window activities. 

  • Maintain close collaboration with other global IT functional teams. 

  • Create and maintain complex network documentation and self-manage multi-quarter projects. 

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field.
  • 12+ years professional experience in Network Architecture including Routing, Switching, Wireless, and Network Security. 

  • A proactive and resourceful individual who achieves goals independently while collaborating effectively in teams, sharing ideas, making recommendations, and ensuring alignment through solid communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Strong verbal, written, social, and presentation skills are required to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences at all levels. This includes developing procedural documentation, work instructions for remote hands, and presentations. 

  • Demonstrate flexibility in managing multiple projects and adjusting to changing requirements, schedules, and priorities while executing workflow milestones and deliverables within project timelines in a fast-paced, cross-time-zone environment. 

  • Meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and excellent problem-solving abilities in an enterprise environment. 

  • Must be able to regularly adjust working hours or time shift to accommodate global projects, ensuring timely execution and collaboration across time zones. 

  • Deep understanding of network design practices from small offices to large campuses. 

  • Deep understanding of DHCP/DNS functions, configurations, troubleshooting, and IPAM tools for tracking and managing IP address allocations during network deployments. 

  • Hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge in networking technologies/solutions including SD-WAN, BGP, OSPF, HA, VLAN, Spanning Tree, EtherChannel, QoS, WAN, etc. 

  • Solid understanding of data center networking technologies and solutions including Cisco/Arista switches, WAN routers, structured cabling, etc. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish professional working relationships with varying levels of both business and technical personnel. 

  • Exceptional documentation skills that can clearly articulate technical designs, issues and constraints, procedures, and network assessments. 

  • Strong project management, analytical, and problem determination/resolution skills. 

  • Proficient in version control, configuration management (Git/Ansible), and network automation to contribute effectively in a fast-paced deployment environment. 

  • Familiar with network scanning/analysis procedures and toolsets for network readiness assessments. 

Preferred:

  • Working knowledge of Infoblox is a PLUS. 

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is a plus. 

  • Technical certificationss such as CCNP/CCIE or equivalent are preferred.

  • The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York.  This range may be modified in the future.
  • You will be eligible to participate in Sandisk's Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance.  Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan.
