Position Details

The John H. Sykes College of Business at The University of Tampa has an opening for a full-time Staff Assistant I. This position will be responsible for providing administrative support for the Graduate Business Programs office.

Responsibilities
Serve as receptionist, first point-of-contact for all Graduate Business Programs Office inquiries, and assistant to all GBPO staff members.
Assist with day-to-day administrative operations, provide clerical support, and perform general office duties, such as answering office phones, copying, faxing, printing, and directing visitor traffic in the office.
Assist academic advisors with scheduling appointments, submitting announcements via Canvas, maintaining databases and filing systems, etc.
Input student data (e.g. new student data, processing applications for graduation, etc.)
Perform other duties as they arise, including assisting other faculty and staff in the above areas when they are not otherwise available.
Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures and backgrounds.
Handle incoming and outgoing daily departmental mail.
Maintain the Graduate Business Programs Office departmental email account. Respond to inquiries and/or forward to appropriate staff members.
Monitor all office supplies, copier refill needs, and coordinate with office vendors to maintain office equipment (e.g. printer cartridges for master copy machine, maintenance issues, etc.)
Assist with maintaining the Graduate Lounge, as well as departmental storage areas.
Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures and backgrounds.

Qualifications

High school diploma required, two years of college is preferred.
Prior administrative office experience preferred.
Excellent written, oral, interpersonal and customer service skills required.
Ability to multi-task, establish priorities and manage time wisely.
Proficiency in MS-Office and Adobe Creative suite.

Knowledge of or the ability to learn quickly The University of Tampa software programs such as Workday and Microsoft Office.
Willingness to embrace new technologies and innovative organizational practices.

Work Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Summer - Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Some Saturdays are required (8 per semester) Monday-Friday schedule is adjusted during these weeks.
