St. Thomas More Hospital, a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital, is the cornerstone of health care services for Fremont County and surrounding southern Colorado communities. St. Thomas More offers 24 hour emergency and trauma services; inpatient acute care; intensive care; labor, delivery, and nursery care; multi-modal diagnostic imaging; inpatient and outpatient surgical services; rehabilitation services; cardiopulmonary rehab and diagnostics; sleep studies; an infusion center; wound care; and a community blood bank. We are on a mission to provide high quality care with zero harm to patients and employees. Our board-certified physicians specialize in emergency medicine, internal medicine, urology, bariatric services, obstetrics/gynecology services, general surgery, orthopedic surgery and osteopathic treatment. Employees of St. Thomas More enjoy the camaraderie of a close-knit community hospital, the relaxed feel of small-town life and an affordable cost of living in a town rich in culture and historic architecture. The Obstetrics, Post-Partum department at St. Thomas More Hospital has four Labor, Delivery & Recovery rooms and four Postpartum rooms where we deliver between 20-30 babies per month. Our department is Labor & Delivery, mom, baby, nursery and obstetrics with a patient mix of antepartum, labor, postpartum, newborn, and post-op GYN. We partner with our surgical services team for C-Section deliveries. We are experienced in stabilizing and transferring high risk mothers and/or neonates, to our sister facilities in Colorado Springs and Denver. We believe that our care toward our patients impact their life experience and we are honored to have the ability to make a positive impact.

As a Registered Nurse (RN) you will assume responsibility and accountability for:
  • Facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.
  • Promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act.

Job Requirements

Education Requirements
  • Associates Degree in Nursing required; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement
  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RNs
Experience Requirements
  • One year L&D experience preferred
  • Leadership experience preferred
  • Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
Licenses/Certification Requirements
  • RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact
Physical Requirements
  • Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
