The targeted hiring range for this position is $14.42 - $19.00 per hour depending on qualifications; however, the expanded salary range provides opportunities for advancement. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and job location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, competencies, experience, and relevant education, training or a combination of these things and market demand. More information about the specific salary range and benefits for your location will be discussed during the hiring process.

Job Description

We are seeking a Prep Cook to join our culinary team at Scarlet Kitchen & Bar. As a Prep Cook, you will assist the Chef in preparing and executing delicious meals according to our seasonal menus while maintaining high standards of quality, cleanliness, and safety. If you have a passion for cooking, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.

  • Prepare and portion made from scratch foods for daily service 
  • Follow State, Federal and Local food safety guidelines
  • Be able to follow recipes accurately, including changing quantities, of batched recipes 
  • Ensure proper portioning and cooking of all menu items.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment.
  • Communicate effectively with the Chef to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Daily preparation of orders as needed on the line.
Qualifications
  • Ability to work safely in a kitchen environment.
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques.
  • Understanding of standardized recipes and cooking terminology.
  • Ability to calculate proportions, percentages, and volume.
  • Familiarity with food allergens and dietary restrictions.
  • Attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds.
