The targeted hiring range for this position is $11.54 - $15.07 per hour depending on qualifications; however, the expanded salary range provides opportunities for advancement. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and job location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, competencies, experience, and relevant education, training or a combination of these things and market demand. More information about the specific salary range and benefits for your location will be discussed during the hiring process.

The St. James Hotel will be your best summer job! Weโ€™re making summer job offers now!

Weโ€™re looking for engaging team members and we are willing to train people with great attitude and professional style.

Work 20-40 hours per week during the summer over a combination of afternoons/evenings and weekends.

Extend your availability to work part-time up to 20 hours per week during May, September and October too and weโ€™ll do our best to accommodate your desired work schedule as long as you have availability to work evenings and weekends.

The Kitchen Steward/Dishwasher is a great first step in your culinary career! The ideal candidate believes in showing up on time for work, providing other employees with assistance in the kitchen as needed, and following all sanitary and health-related protocols. This position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using machine and manual cleaning methods. This position also ensures the dish washing area is maintained as a clean, safe, and sanitary facility.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sweeping and mopping the entire kitchen, dish areas, restaurant line, and Banquet areas, and walk-in coolers.
  • Cleaning china, silverware, and glassware by operating dish machine or by hand as needed.
  • Washing and clearing counters, shelves, and queens.
  • Washing dish area and kitchen mats.
  • Assistingย cooks with set-up and breakdown and cleanliness.
  • Monitoring trash and recycling levels in all areas, removing when needed.
  • Washing pots and pans and returning them to their proper place after cleaning; scrubbing kettles, and skillets.
