SSU is currently recruiting for a Presidentto join our team and work in our corporate office in Fayetteville, N.C.The President will be responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational performance of Strategic Solutions Unlimited (SSU), a proud Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). This executive leads the execution of the Company’s vision by overseeing daily operations, driving business development, and ensuring robust financial performance across government and commercial markets.

Operating at the intersection of defense procurement and specialized infrastructure, the President works collaboratively with the Chief Executive Officer and corporate executives to expand market opportunities, strengthen organizational capabilities, and ensure compliance with all applicable federal regulations. In this role, you will champion SSU’s commitment to integrity, innovation, operational excellence, and mission-driven service to our clients and employees.

Responsibilities
  • Provide executive leadership and strategic direction for all corporate operations, programs, and growth initiatives.
  • Develop and execute long-term business strategies that support sustainable growth and profitability as a leading SDVOSB.
  • Assist with company operations to ensure efficient execution of complex government contracts, secure facility construction projects, and corporate services.
  • Lead and mentor executive leadership, establishing accountability and fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture.
  • Drive business development, capture management, and strategic growth initiatives to expand SSU’s federal and commercial portfolios.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Department of War (DoW) agencies, federal civilian clients, subcontractors, strategic partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Monitor organizational performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with resource allocation to ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all contractual, regulatory, legal, and ethical requirements, including FAR, DFARS, and federal contracting regulations.
  • Support proposal development and major capture efforts by providing executive oversight and strategic guidance.
  • Promote a culture of safety, security, quality, and exceptional customer service throughout the organization.
  • Oversee risk management efforts to mitigate operational, financial, contractual, and compliance risks.
  • Ensure organizational readiness to support domestic (CONUS) and international (OCONUS) contract requirements.
  • Represent SSU at executive meetings, defense conferences, client engagements, and industry events.
  • Lead organizational planning, succession planning, and talent development initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Security Clearance: Must possess a minimum of an active Secret clearance with documented eligibility to obtain a Top Secret (TS) clearance. An active Top Secret (TS) or TS/SCI clearance is highly preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field required. Master’s degree (MBA or related discipline) preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience, including at least 10 years in executive management.
  • Defense Contracting Expertise: Deep, verifiable expertise leading organizations performing federal government contracts, with significant experience supporting the Department of Defense (DoD), federal civilian agencies, or the intelligence community.
  • Construction Knowledge (Preferred): Foundational knowledge or direct experience in construction, modular facilities, SCIF infrastructure, or design-build programs is a highly desirable bonus but not a strict prerequisite.
