About the Role

Cypress Bank's culture supports customers in achieving their financial goals and dreams. The Assistant Branch Manager plays a key role in delivering exceptional customer service and supporting the daily operations of the branch, assisting with loans, new accounts, and managing the teller line. Working closely with the Branch Manager, the Assistant Branch Manager helps drive branch performance, build strong customer relationships, and maintain efficient branch operations in a community-focused banking environment.

Job Duties:

  • Meet and greet customers with top tier customer service.
  • Ensure the appearance of the premises and bank personnel are neat, organized, and in accordance with bank policy.
  • Oversee branch operations including but not limited to balancing the vault, TCRs and ATMs, ordering money, maintaining Safe Deposit Boxes, and adhering to Bank policy and procedures.
  • Oversee Tellers and CSRs including hiring, scheduling, timecards, surprise cash counts, and assigning duties to maximize office efficiency.
  • Approve teller transactions, including holds, in accordance with Bank policy.
  • Assist in a teller station when necessary.
  • Oversee daily teller balancing and assist in locating outages.
  • Open new accounts and revise existing accounts: checking, savings and certificates of deposit (including IRAs) while following the Bank's Customer Identification Program procedures.
  • Assist customers with online banking needs including initial set up and troubleshooting.
  • Oversee proper dual control of the night depository and processing the contents therein.
  • Manage deposit account relationship and cross-sell the Bank's services and products.
  • Manage the overdraft notification process for the branch market.
  • Research and verify account information for customer inquiries, quote products and rates.
  • Assist customers with check orders, debit cards, including disputes, safe deposit box services, and wires.
  • Accept and process loan applications including credit checks, funding, scanning, and indexing.
  • Procure information necessary to complete loan package and documentation requirements, (i.e., financial statements, tax returns, appraisals, lien searches, collateral verification)
  • Identify and prepare documentation for new loans and renewals.
  • Prepare payoff quotes and forward to lenders and/or client.
  • Prepare board reports for Senior Officers and other loan related reports for lenders on a periodic basis.
  • Participate in initial and periodic job-specific training pertaining to requirements under the Bank Secrecy Act and other industry regulations.
  • Complete routine reviews of branch operations reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Schedule: Monday–Thursday from 8:30am–5:00pm and Fridays from 8:30am–5:30pm with a 1–hour lunch break is standard; however, different hours may be required occasionally depending on the needs of the branch.

Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
