Summary:TGI Office Automation is seeking a Customer Field Specialist to support and execute Managed Print Services (MPS) initiatives across our client base. This role is responsible for conducting on-site assessments, device inventories, and print environment mapping to support optimization, cost reduction, and service improvement initiatives.
The Customer Field Specialist plays a critical role in gathering accurate field data, supporting MPS implementations, and ensuring client print environments align with TGI standards and best practices. Accurate field data drives better decisions, improved client outcomes, and scalable MPS growth. This role ensures that recommendations and reporting are grounded in real-world conditions. This position works closely with the GPS/MPS leadership team, sales, service, and supply operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Assessments & Site Visits
  • Conduct on-site client visits to perform Managed Print assessments.
  • Complete detailed device inventories, including printers, MFPs, models, serial numbers, locations, and network connectivity.
  • Perform print environment mapping and documentation across client locations.
  • Validate device status, usage patterns, and connectivity for data collection tools.

Data Collection & Accuracy
  • Collect and verify accurate usage data, meter reads, and device attributes.
  • Ensure devices are properly configured and reporting for MPS and ATR programs.
  • Identify discrepancies between system data and actual field conditions.
  • Maintain accurate records in designated systems, tools, and reports.

MPS Optimization Support
  • Support fleet optimization initiatives, including:
    • Identification of underutilized or redundant devices
    • Opportunities for device consolidation
    • Page volume reallocation to more cost-effective equipment
  • Provide field-level insights and recommendations to GPS leadership.
  • Assist in implementing approved optimization and standardization plans.

Sales & Client Support
  • Support the sales team during MPS evaluations and implementations.
  • Participate in client meetings as needed to explain assessment findings.
  • Serve as a professional on-site representative of TGI during assessments.
  • Escalate identified issues, risks, or opportunities to GPS leadership.

Process & Standards Compliance
  • Follow established MPS and ATR SOPs for assessments and documentation.
  • Ensure consistency and quality across all site visits and reports.
  • Adhere to safety, security, and client-specific access requirements.
  • Provide feedback on process improvements and field best practices.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) & Success Metrics:
Field Execution
  • On-time completion of assigned site visits and assessments
  • Accuracy and completeness of device inventories and field data
  • Reduction in data discrepancies between field and system records

Operational Impact
  • Contribution to fleet optimization and device consolidation initiatives
  • Support of improved cost-per-page outcomes for clients
  • Successful onboarding and maintenance of devices into MPS and ATR programs

Client Experience
  • Professional, positive feedback from clients during site visits
  • Clear communication and documentation of findings
  • Minimal follow-up required due to accurate initial assessments

Qualifications & Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience in Managed Print Services, print assessments, or related field roles.
  • Strong understanding of printer and MFP environments.
  • Comfortable performing on-site audits and working independently in the field.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate findings clearly to internal teams and clients.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally and regionally.
  • Experience with MPS data collection tools (e.g., FMAudit or similar).
  • Familiarity with networked print environments.
  • Experience supporting optimization or cost-reduction initiatives.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $23.00 - $28.00 an hour (based on experience)
