Job description

Primary Function:

We are seeking a highly skilled, motivated, flexible, and professionalSenior Systems Administratorwho will play a key role in our technology team. As a Senior Systems Administrator, you will perform system administration tasks, to include infrastructure administration and automation, information security support and configurations, software and OS installation/updates, and follow configuration/change control processes. The Senior System Administrator will create new solutions to solve hard technical problems and provide system support using best practices with modern and innovative tooling. The Senior System Administrator will support the design, validation and configuration management of computing systems, and monitor system performance to support capacity planning, backup and disaster recovery planning. The ideal candidate brings sound judgment, adaptability, and a team-first mindset, with the flexibility to step in when critical issues require attention. Hours and on-call needs vary; flexibility is expected as part of the role.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and performing regular maintenance tasks such as applying updates, patches, and security fixes

2. Assist Network Engineers with configuring and managing network services, such as DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory, to facilitate communication and resource sharing within the network

3. Assist with implementing and managing backup strategies to ensure data protection and disaster recovery capabilities in case of system failures or data loss

4. Assist with implementing and maintaining security measures, including firewalls, endpoint protection, and access controls, to protect the system from unauthorized access, malware, and other security threats

5. Analyzing system performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing optimizations to improve overall system efficiency and responsiveness

6. Maintaining accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps, as well as generating reports on system performance, security, and compliance

7. Participating in the planning and implementation of new systems, upgrades, and migrations, ensuring compatibility and adherence to best practices

8. Staying up to date with the latest technologies, industry trends, and security practices, and continuously improving skills and knowledge

Work Conditions:

  • Office-based with no remote work opportunities
  • A minimum of 10% travel is required to support secure facilities and partner sites
  • May require occasional work outside normal business hours to support operations and incident response.
