The Opportunity

Abbott Rapid Diagnostics - Infectious Disease has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Sales Specialist, Urgent Care for the Central region.

The Senior Specialist - Urgent Care will assume regional urgent care market responsibilities, meeting and exceeding assigned territory sales plans for targeted products by leveraging Abbott Rapid Diagnostic's value proposition. The Senior Specialist - Urgent Care will be responsible to analyze, profile, and develop strategic relationships with targeted urgent care accounts while partnering with distribution channel partners and internal Abbott divisions to prioritize and qualify customers in order to penetrate and close new business opportunities to achieve the financial goals for the business.

The primary responsibility of the Senior Specialist - Urgent Care is to enable market share growth of assigned products within defined top urgent care accounts. The Senior Specialist- Urgent Care is an expert in the selling process and will serve as the Abbott Rapid Diagnostic resource for urgent care strategy for distributors and customers, technical service, sales organization(s), marketing and corporate accounts. The Senior Specialist - Urgent Care will identify additional Abbott products for multiple Abbott Rapid Diagnostic business units. Product focus likely to be adapted and expanded.

What You'll Work On

  • Develop and execute strategic territory sales plans to drive new business, increase market penetration, and achieve or exceed revenue objectives within the urgent care market.
  • Manage the full sales cycle using a consultative selling approach, including prospecting, presenting solutions, engaging key stakeholders, negotiating contracts, and closing business while leveraging Salesforce.com to track and advance opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with executive-level customers, key opinion leaders, distributors, and industry partners to drive customer retention, competitive conversions, and advocacy for Abbott products and solutions.
  • Support distributors and internal sales teams through training, technical expertise, marketing initiatives, and collaborative sales activities to maximize market share and revenue growth.
  • Promote Abbott's portfolio of diagnostic products, software, services, and cross-divisional solutions while identifying opportunities to expand adoption across assigned accounts.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, reimbursement changes, and regulatory requirements to identify growth opportunities and inform business strategy.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, regulatory affairs, product development, technical services, and commercial teams to support customer needs, resolve issues, and ensure successful business execution.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, reporting, expense management, CRM documentation, and complaint escalation processes while ensuring compliance with corporate policies and quality standards.

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS in sales, marketing, business management or related coursework
  • Minimum 5 years sales experience with documented history of success.
  • Additional training in laboratory product sales and the diagnostics industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in price - value contract negotiations.
  • Thorough understanding of financial dynamics (pricing, profitability, contract management).
  • Ability and flexibility to travel and work with customers throughout the assigned geographical territory ~70-75% both regional and some national to support business objectives and customer engagement.
  • Valid Drivers License
