Position Summary:
The Senior Risk Analyst, Commercial Lending Analytics, will support the development, calibration, and ongoing performance monitoring of commercial lending (dealer floorplan) credit criteria for Stellantis Financial Services. This role partners closely with Commercial Lending, Credit Policy, and Model Risk to build and maintain dealer risk-rating frameworks, portfolio surveillance reporting, and early-warning indicators across the floorplan and commercial credit portfolio, while operating independently within the Risk department to ensure appropriate separation between criteria-setting/monitoring and origination decisioning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Uses quantitative and analytical skills to mine, process and analyze data using SQL, Fabric, R, Python, SAS, Power BI, MS Excel or similar spreadsheet programs, and other business tools.
- Develops and presents analysis on performance, trends, and projections to upper management to facilitate business and strategic decisions.
- Prepares and distributes recurring and ad-hoc analysis and reporting on portfolios including performance and projections.
- Provides easy-to-understand, action-oriented analytical reports and other presentations to the management team.
- Builds, recalibrates, and validates dealer risk-rating models and commercial credit scorecards; supports development of early-warning triggers for portfolio deterioration.
- Identifies and evaluates portfolio trends and KPIs relevant to commercial/dealer credit, including inventory turn, aging, curtailment compliance, out-of-trust incidence, and dealer financial covenant performance, alongside market valuations, depreciation, and residuals.
- Trouble-shoots data deficiencies and errors to ensure timely and accurate analysis of the data.
- Confers with IT and functional business lines to evaluate, design, implement, and maintain relational databases and/or large data sets.
- Collaborates with Commercial Lending and Credit Policy on the design and ongoing calibration of dealer floorplan lending criteria, covenant thresholds, and audit/monitoring cadence.
- Partners with dealer audit/inventory-verification functions to incorporate out-of-trust and inventory aging data into portfolio risk reporting.
- This position involves regular access to sensitive business and consumer information, including, but not limited to, dealer financial statements, dealer principal/guarantor personal financial information, Social Security numbers, and dates of birth.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience:
- Five (5) years of experience in data analytics, credit risk analytics, or commercial credit analysis, including exposure to portfolio monitoring, financial statement analysis, or credit scoring/rating frameworks.
- Familiarity with financial statement analysis (balance sheet, cash flow, leverage) is strongly preferred, given the commercial/dealer-credit focus of this role.
- Proficient with SQL, Fabric, Python, R or other business intelligence software.
- Proficient with using Microsoft Office Suite applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Power BI.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and apply concepts to practical situations.
- Experience with statistical analysis software/languages (R, Python, SQL, & SAS) in addition to training in statistical modeling, data analysis, or computer programing.
- Detail oriented with problem solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to practical situations when carrying out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Education:
- Bachelors Degree in: Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Finance, or other quantitative fields.
Overtime required required on an as needed basis.
- Travel 0-10% - as required on an as needed basis.
- Must have reliable transportation and live within a commutable distance to one of the following cities: Atlanta, GA; Dallas, TX.
Qualifications Preferred:
- Master's Degree and/or PhD in: Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Finance, or other quantitative fields highly preferred!
- Prior experience in commercial/dealer floorplan finance, asset-based lending, or captive auto finance is a plus. Familiarity with inventory-secured lending concepts (curtailment, dealer risk rating, out-of-trust monitoring) is highly desirable.
