Job description

Base Salary: $70,000-$75,000 | Total Compensation Opportunity: $100,000-$120,000

Build the Team. Improve the Process. Grow With Us.

Southern National Roofing is looking for an experienced, hands-on Recruiting Manager to lead and improve our recruiting efforts as we continue to grow. This is not a desk-only recruiting management position.

We're looking for a builder and player-coach - someone who can lead and develop recruiters, personally recruit when needed, learn our business from the inside, identify opportunities for improvement, and help us build the hiring infrastructure needed for our next stage of growth.

Southern National is currently experiencing approximately 40% year-over-year growth, and this position is expected to grow as the company does.

What You'll Do

You'll lead a small recruiting team responsible for hiring Sales Consultants, Sales Managers, Canvassers, Canvassing Managers, Call Center Team Members, Department Managers, and selected Senior Management positions.

Β Β Β Β Β Β  Lead, coach, and develop the recruiting team.

Β Β Β Β Β Β  Personally source, recruit, screen, and interview candidates when needed.

Β Β Β Β Β Β  Improve sourcing strategies, job postings, screening, interviewing, and candidate selection.

Β Β Β Β Β Β  Build recruiting metrics, reporting, goals, and accountability.

Β Β Β Β Β Β  Improve quality of hire and employee retention.

Β Β Β Β Β Β  Source and recommend Sales Managers, Canvassing Managers, and selected senior leaders.

Β Β Β Β Β Β  Develop future Recruiting Team Leads and Managers.

Β Β Β Β Β Β  Partner closely with department and senior leadership before implementing material changes.

Learn the Business by Doing

We believe you recruit better when you truly understand the positions you're trying to fill. Especially during your first several months, you'll spend time throughout the business learning how our teams operate. That may include sitting alongside employees, spending time with managers, participating in ride-alongs with sales or canvassing teams, and, when appropriate, sitting in the seat or performing portions of a job to understand the process firsthand.

This isn't just an onboarding exercise. Southern National is a hands-on company. If someone is out, workload surges, or the business needs temporary support, our managers are expected to be willing to step in and help.

Immediate Priority - Sales Recruiting

One of your first priorities will be improving Sales Consultant recruiting. We need to increase our Sales Consultant team by approximately 10-15 people while improving retention through better quality of hire.

We do not expect you to spend 90 days studying the problem before making an impact. You'll be expected to learn and act at the same time - personally participating in recruiting, identifying opportunities for improvement, and beginning to generate results.

Understand the business. Identify the opportunity. Consult with senior leadership. Then act quickly.

We move quickly. Consultation is not intended to create layers of approval; in most cases it is simply a conversation with the appropriate leader before a material change is implemented.

Help Build Our Hiring Infrastructure

Working with company leadership and with support from HR and legal resources, you'll help develop and improve hiring packets, interview guides, candidate scorecards, job descriptions, onboarding processes, recruiting and hiring SOPs, hiring manager guidelines, and the employee handbook. Prior HR experience is helpful but not required.

Requirements

Who We're Looking For

Β Β Β Β Β Β  Someone who still enjoys recruiting and interviewing candidates.

Β Β Β Β Β Β  Experience leading, coaching, or developing recruiters.

Β Β Β Β Β Β  Comfort being both a manager and an individual contributor.

Β Β Β Β Β Β  Experience with high-volume recruiting and management-level searches.

Β Β Β Β Β Β  Experience recruiting commissioned sales professionals strongly preferred.

Β Β Β Β Β Β  Good judgment: knows when to act independently and when a quick leadership conversation is appropriate.

Β Β Β Β Β Β  A builder who wants to improve processes, develop people, and grow with the company.

Β Β Β Β Β Β  Home services, roofing, remodeling, solar, HVAC, pest control, or similar experience is a plus.

Β Β Β Β Β Β  HR generalist or HR operations experience is a plus.

Β Β Β Β Β Β  Must be willing to work on-site in Charlotte, NC.

Benefits

Compensation & Benefits

Β Β Β Β Β Β  Starting base salary: $70,000-$75,000.

Β Β Β Β Β Β  $5,000 annual base salary increase after 90 days based on successful completion of initial objectives.

Β Β Β Β Β Β  Performance-based bonus opportunity.

Β Β Β Β Β Β  Total compensation opportunity: approximately $100,000-$120,000.

Β Β Β Β Β Β  Medical, dental, and vision insurance.

Β Β Β Β Β Β  Paid company holidays.

Β Β Β Β Β Β  One week of PTO during Year One; two weeks beginning in Year Two.

Β Β Β Β Β Β  Career and leadership growth opportunities.

Your Opportunity Isn't Limited to Recruiting

With approximately 40% year-over-year growth, we're building teams, developing new leaders, and creating opportunities throughout the organization. As you build the recruiting team, develop future leaders, improve hiring and retention, and help build teams that contribute to company growth, the scope of your position is expected to evolve.

That growth does not have to remain within recruiting. For the right person, Recruiting Manager can be the starting point rather than the destination. Future opportunities may develop in Talent Acquisition, HR, Operations, or other areas based on performance, leadership ability, business needs, and demonstrated results.

Learn the business. Build the team. Improve the process. Grow with Southern National Roofing.
