Salary Range: $177,000 - $232,000

Reporting to the General Superintendent, the Senior Project Superintendent provides overall administrative and technical management of the construction project. The Senior Superintendent manages all on site construction activities including self-perform labor, subcontractors and consultants to successfully execute large and complex projects.ย ย 

Responsibilities / Essential Functionsย 
  • Administer project safety program to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.ย ย ย 
  • Proficient in all five areas of focus on their project:ย 
  • Safety, Schedule, Cost, Quality, and creating Raving Fans with all external partners.ย ย 
  • Develop and implement a site-specific safety plan for each project assigned.ย ย ย 
  • Verify that all subcontractors have a valid subcontract and an acceptable insurance certificate prior to working on site.ย ย ย 
  • Serve as the OSHA competent person for various tasks or assign others to serve as competent person.ย ย 
  • Preplan all operations to produce innovative and efficient methods to avoid hazards. Senior Superintendent must correct all recognized hazards immediately.ย ย ย 
  • Supervise construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications.ย ย ย 
  • Thoroughly understand the contract (owner/subcontractor), owner requirements, contract plans, contract specifications, submittals and any change documentsย 
  • Provide technical assistance on the project, interpret contract drawings and submittals, and develop construction methods consistent with contract documents.ย ย ย ย ย 
  • Work with the project team to set project goals and schedule milestones.ย ย ย 
  • Coordinate all required labor, equipment, small tools, permanent materials, and supplies as needed for self-perform operations.ย ย 
  • Create the Site-Specific Quality Plan (SSQP), manage all aspects of project quality efforts.ย 
  • Complete onsite material verification as required for the project.ย ย 
  • Manage project budget requirements:ย ย 
  • Assist the Project Manager in developing budgets and monthly costs to complete.ย 
  • Manage T&M process, including verification of time and materials.ย 
  • Track production and submit quantities weekly.ย 
  • Identify changes in the field, authorize field change requests, provide all documentation required to ensure compensation for all work performed.ย ย ย 
  • Assist in the approval process for all subcontractor requisitions.ย ย 
  • Manage the project to meet schedule requirements and milestones.ย 
  • Develop a baseline schedule with Project Services Group.ย 
  • Track progress against baseline schedule and critical path dates.ย ย 
  • Communicate schedule requirements at weekly subcontractor meetings.ย ย ย 
  • Develop a short-term plan on a weekly basis that directly supports the project schedule and looks ahead a minimum of 3 weeks.ย ย 
  • Coordinate and lead the daily stand up and weekly foreman meetings.ย ย 
  • Ensure that the material delivery log is updated and accurate.ย ย ย 
  • Interface with client representatives, A-E representatives, other contractors, and various building officials in a professional manner.ย ย ย 
  • Participate in business development.ย  Create Raving Fans on current projects.ย  Utilize contacts to initiate leads for future projects.ย ย ย 
  • Participate in quarterly Superintendent and Safety meetings, as well as periodic training sessions.ย ย ย ย ย 
  • Supervise assigned Foremen, Assistant Superintendents, and Project Engineers.

Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferred in Construction Management/Civil Engineering.ย ย 
  • 3-7 years of experience in the construction or related field in a similar role or 7-10 years in a supervisory role as a tradesperson.ย 
  • Understands building plans and specifications.ย 
  • Safety standards knowledge and enforcement, OSHA 30 required.
