Position: Senior Operations Subject Matter Expert (Mission Command Exercises) (Non-Key Personnel)

Type: Full-time

Location: Fort Bragg, NC

Travel: Must be available for CONUS and OCONUS travel

Position Summary: The Senior Operations Subject Matter Expert (Mission Command Exercises) provides senior-level operational expertise supporting the design, development, planning, coordination, and execution of Mission Command Exercises and Mission Readiness Exercises conducted by the Special Operations Mission Training Center. This position contributes operational realism, exercise content development, and Special Operations Forces expertise to collective training events designed for headquarters staffs and commanders. The Senior Operations Subject Matter Expert supports the development of operational scenarios, training products, and exercise activities that replicate realistic operational environments. This position directly contributes to the readiness of Special Operations Forces by helping leaders and staffs rehearse operations, planning processes, and mission execution in complex operational environments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Support design, development, scripting, and execution of Mission Readiness Exercises.

Provide senior-level operational expertise to Mission Command Exercise planning efforts.

Develop realistic Special Operations Forces operational scenarios.

Support collective training events for headquarters staffs and leadership elements.

Assist with exercise research, planning, preparation, and coordination activities.

Integrate operational, intelligence, logistics, and mission considerations into exercise scenarios.

Support development of training products and exercise materials.

Assist with exercise execution, operational decision-making scenarios, and training support activities.

Provide operational expertise regarding Special Operations Forces mission planning and execution.

Support after-action review activities and exercise improvements.

Coordinate with Simulation Support, Information Technology, and Mission Command Exercise personnel to support training objectives.

Required Qualifications:

Two years of experience researching, planning, preparing, coordinating, and executing Mission Readiness Exercises.

Knowledge of exercise design principles.

Experience managing exercise development and execution resources, including: Personnel,Time,Infrastructure,Hardware,Networks,Databases,Software, and Security considerations.

All Contractor Personnel Requirements:

Maintain a Secret security clearance throughout performance.

Comply with National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual requirements.

Complete Threat Awareness and Reporting Program training.

Complete Anti-Terrorism Level I Awareness Training.

Complete Operations Security Awareness Training.

Complete Department of Defense Cyber Awareness Training when required.

Meet installation access and identity verification requirements.

Comply with Government force protection, security, and information protection requirements.

Demonstrate professional communication and coordination skills necessary to interact with Headquarters staff personnel, Special Operations Forces units, Government personnel, and contractors.

Physical Ability to:

Ability to sit, stand, and work for extended periods.

Ability to support long-duration planning sessions, exercises, and training events.

Ability to work in classroom, operations center, staff-training, and exercise-control environments.

Ability to operate Government-provided computer systems and collaboration tools.

Ability to travel in support of Mission Readiness Exercises and training requirements

Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk, listen, and write. The employee frequently is required to use foot/ankle motions, hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to stand, walk, sit; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
