Job description

Theย Senior Network Engineer will perform all activities related to supportingย DoD OIG's capability to provideย a reliable, scalable, and secure high-speed Data Network infrastructureย andย operatingย an efficient, effective, and secure network infrastructure.ย 

  • Recommend WAN/LAN/Virtual/VPN/requirements based on business needs and industry bestย practicesย .ย 
  • Recommend Data Network capacity thresholds.ย ย 
  • Provide capacity and performance reports asย required.ย ย 
  • Provision, andย maintain all Data Network components as agreed to by the Parties.ย ย 
  • Maintain all Data Network componentsย in accordance withย vendor maintenance agreements and current DoD OIG-provided security policies.ย ย 
  • Reportย performanceย againstย Service Level Requirements.ย 
  • Develop and provide high-level and detailed network design artifacts.ย 
  • Prepare Data Network design, engineering, and security, plans and schedules to support new and enhanced Applications, architectures, and standards.ย 
  • Develop testing and integration procedures for Data Network design, engineering and security that meet requirements and adhere to defined policies.ย 
  • Coordinate with the DoD OIG's Service Recipients, and public carriers, asย required.ย 

Requirements

  • Must have Secret security clearance.ย 
  • Mustย haveย a bachelor's degree inย computer science, information systems, information technology, engineering, telecommunications, or related technical field.ย 
  • Must have at leastย 10 years' IT experience with at least 7 years' experience with enterprise network design, implementation, and management.ย ย 
  • Must have at leastย 5 years' experience managing complex WAN/LAN environments supporting 1,000+ users across multiple geographic locations.ย 
  • Must have at leastย 5 years' experience with VPN services to include provisioning, monitoring,ย ย 
  • and the management of site-to-site VPN connectivity and remote user access solutions.ย 
  • Must have at leastย 3 years' experience with hybrid network environments integrating on-premises infrastructure with cloud network services, and experience with network capacity planning, performance monitoring, and threshold management for enterprise-scale networks.ย ย 
  • Must have at leastย 3 years' experience with network services and network topology design and implementation.ย 
  • Must be certified as IAT Level II per DoD Task 5.3 Digital Workplace Services & 8570.01-M guidance for Baseline certifications.ย ย 
  • Must be able to obtain a TASKORD related computing environment system certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M guidance for computing environment certifications as approved by agency IAWIP coordinator.ย 
  • Must haveย Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)/Juniper Networks Certified Expert (JNCIE)ย certification.ย 
  • Must haveย Routing and Switching certification.ย 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or related field.ย 
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) v3 or later.ย 
  • Cloud Network Certifications relevant to hybrid environments such as (Azure Network Engineer Associate, AWS Advanced Networking, orย equivalent).ย
