Capgemini is seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Developer to join our SAP Application Services team supporting a large-scale retail client environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on SAP technical professional with 7-10 years of SAP ABAP development experience and a strong background supporting mission-critical applications in fast-paced retail organizations.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting SAP solutions across Financials and Sales & Distribution domains while ensuring the stability and performance of business-critical systems. You'll work closely with functional teams, business stakeholders, and client leadership to deliver high-quality technical solutions, troubleshoot complex production issues, and support digital transformation initiatives.

Application Developers develop, test and integrate applications, frameworks and tools in a controlled environment. With expertise in a specific technology environment, they are responsible for software-specific design and realization, as well as testing, deployment and release management or technical application management of client-specific package based solutions.  Represent team in project meetings. Work with business and functional analysts, and software and solution architects in ensuring that programs and systems function as intended. Supervise, mentor and manage large teams of programmers in one or more projects. Certifications: You maintain certifications on Saas or Package Based solution andoror relevant programming toolsorlanguage, and relevant methodology.

Your Role
  • Design, develop, test, and support complex SAP ABAP solutions across enterprise SAP landscapes.
  • Develop and enhance RICEF (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows) objects, with a primary focus on SAP FI and SAP SD modules.
  • Collaborate with functional consultants and business stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Implement complex business logic using BAdIs, User Exits, Enhancement Frameworks, Function Modules, and Enhancement Spots.
  • Develop and maintain inbound and outbound integrations utilizing IDocs, RFCs, BAPIs, web services, and other SAP integration technologies.
  • Support data migration, conversion, and interface development activities across SAP and third-party systems.
  • Design and maintain Adobe Forms, Smart Forms, and SAP Scripts to support critical business processes.
  • Develop advanced ALV reports and analytical solutions to support operational and financial reporting requirements.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex production incidents and business-critical issues while meeting service-level agreements.
  • Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards, quality controls, and SAP best practices.
  • Optimize application performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Partner with client teams to support change requests, enhancements, upgrades, and production support initiatives.
  • Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes following ITIL best practices.
Your Skill and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7-10 years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience.
  • Strong experience supporting retail industry clients and business processes.
  • Extensive experience developing SAP ABAP solutions within SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA environments.
  • Proven expertise with:  RICEF development,  Reports and Interfaces, Conversions and Enhancements, Smart Forms, Adobe Forms, and SAP Scripts, BAPIs, RFCs, IDocs, and Web Services, ALV Reporting, Workflow development
  • Strong understanding of SAP FI and SAP SD modules and associated business processes.
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving complex production and client-facing issues within critical business environments.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience conducting peer code reviews and enforcing development standards.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA transformation or migration programs.
  • Knowledge of SAP integration and API-based architectures.
  • Experience with performance tuning and optimization of ABAP programs.
  • Familiarity with SAP enhancement frameworks and advanced development techniques.
  • Working knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies.

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: $82,082 - $177,320
