Job description

MARS Solutions Group is looking for an experienced SQL Database Administrator. Our client is an insurance firm looking for high-quality talent to make a difference. They are known to respect a traditional work week and often extend contracts for added job security and stability.

Our client is seeking a high-impact SQL Database Administrator to support core system modernization and policy administration conversions. This role is critical to ongoing platform upgrades and large-scale data transformation initiatives.
The ideal candidate brings a hybrid skillset across infrastructure DBA + data/ETL + conversion experience, with the ability to collaborate across internal teams and external vendors
Key Responsibilities
Support SQL Server environments including performance tuning, maintenance, and upgrades
Lead and support database upgrades and modernization initiatives
Partner on policy administration system conversions, including data migration and validation
Develop and manage ETL processes for data transformation and integration
Collaborate with internal teams + external vendors (e.g., Sapiens)
Ensure data integrity, performance optimization, and system reliability
Participate in cross-functional discussions with business and technical stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience with SQL Server, including Database Administrator (DBA) responsibilities including focus on system upgrades.
- Hands-on experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) - SSIS, data migration, and data conversion processes.
- Insurance domain experience is mandatory, specifically in the Life & Annuities sector and Policy Administration systems.
- Experience working in complex, multi-system environments.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
